WTware (pronounced “wheel”) is an advanced and easy to set up terminal server. It consists of a terminal session created by the terminal server software that runs in the terminal client. To create a WTware terminal session, the user just has to create a WTware terminal client and an X window, put the terminal server software in the right folder in the host computer and start the terminal client. No additional servers are required. WTware version 2.0 is an updated version of our previous terminal server. It adds new drivers and improvements to the old version. WTware network client is a client/server system, but a server is not required. Several terminal servers can work in the same network. For users that want to try the WTware solution, it’s the best terminal server available. WTware gives high graphic performance and save time (you are saved all the time spent in installing other terminal servers). WTware is designed to be light on the resources as possible. It’s small (no need of xinetd, etc.), uses only a few services, RAM and CPU. The closest terminal server it resembles is the old VNC software.
How do I install WTware?
This is a very simple way to install WTware. The user puts the terminal server in the right folder and starts the terminal client.
Step 1: Obtain the WTware CD-ROM
1) Download the WTware icon from If you want to use this CD-ROM, you need to create a folder “WTware” on the CD-ROM drive and put the WTware CD-ROM in it.
