Users can use the automatic upgrade feature to upgrade a Windows 98 system to Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional.The present invention relates to an active matrix liquid crystal display apparatus in which each dot in a pixel area is provided with a liquid crystal element for display, a switching element connected to the liquid crystal element, and a bias line connecting the liquid crystal element and the switching element.
In an active matrix liquid crystal display apparatus in which each dot is provided with a liquid crystal element for display, a switching element connected to the liquid crystal element, and a bias line connecting the liquid crystal element and the switching element, the bias lines are provided at their one end with a bias voltage supply source. A switching element such as a thin-film transistor is provided with the bias line for applying a bias to its gate electrode. The bias voltage supply source includes a fixed bias voltage supply part and a variable bias voltage supply part. The variable bias voltage supply part inverts the polarity of the bias voltage of the bias line to reverse the polarity of the voltage applied to the liquid crystal. Thereby, the liquid crystal element is driven to reduce the number of manufacturing steps and save the manufacturing cost.
A conventional active matrix liquid crystal display apparatus having a bias voltage supply part is shown in FIG. 1.
In FIG. 1, numeral 10 designates a liquid crystal element, numeral 11 a bias line connecting the liquid crystal element 10 and a switching element 12 which is connected to the bias line 11 at one end. The switching element 12 is a thin-film transistor (TFT) having a gate electrode connected to the bias line 11 through a gate insulating film 13. A source electrode is connected to the liquid crystal element 10 through a source insulating film 14, and a drain electrode is connected to an opposing electrode. Numeral 15 denotes a switching element which has a different structure from that of the switching element 12 and the switching element 15 has a source electrode connected to the source insulating film 14 of the switching element 12 through an aperture formed at a different position. Also, the gate electrodes of the switching elements 12 and 15 are commonly connected through a scanning line 16. Numeral 17 designates a TFT switch which is formed in a region where the scanning lines 16 are disposed. Thereby, the gate electrodes of the switching elements 12 and 15 are sequentially scanned by the switching elements 17 to drive the liquid crystal element 10. Here is a slightly-updated list, for the year 1991-92. I haven’t a clue about how many volumes there were, let alone their exact contents. I’ve never come across a copy of the magazine (or any other material) that is known to have been published during that period.

Unfortunately, I have not a clue about the availability of copies of the magazine on the internet.

I’m more interested in the history of collecting, really – especially material that pertains to the USG era, or the earlier volumes of what now seem to be volumes 4-6, which is what are likely to be most interesting in this context. I.e., prices of the volumes and periodicals I’m most interested in have mostly dropped, whereas the prices of early volumes with total figures (like 1, 2, and 3) have risen sharply. I bought a copy of Volume 3 at an auction last year for $75.

I’d imagine that the way collectors went about this was to buy individual volumes as they became available, either out of the original series in which they were published or from the reprints that followed. The main interest in the later volumes, of course, was the reprints after the original volumes became out of print, but I guess that doesn’t make them less interesting to those who were interested in collecting originals or were just plain curious about the history of the concept.At Atlanta’s wave pool Alligator Bayou, the world’s largest artificial wave pool,
