I have this weird issue. My DIY ejuice is harsh or scratchy, but ONLY when the liquid is "cold". Aka room temperature. When the vape is getting warmer after some puffs, it goes away. Tried a bunch of different flavours. FA, TPA and even pre-mixed essences. Tried with very low essence %. 1 up to 15%. All the same. Store bought never does this. Im really confused. Tried 70/30, 60/40 and 50/50. Use 100%VG 18mg nicotine salt.

I bought a bottle.of naked 100 lava flow in a 3mg and the 1st time was great, 2nd time and 3rd time was good, then this last bottle i got was harsh as fuck, and it was a 3mg again so i know its not usually like that, wtf, $15 thrown away, its the not the 1st time naked 100 has done this to me, maybe a fake, maybe a bad batch but why is this happening so often with this brand? I read a few forums and i see im not the only one who has this problem with them,
I just want to add that if you mix a large batch of unflavored PG/VG/NIC base liquid, a gallon or so, you almost always have to mix it with a drill and paint mixer bit. I’ve shaken and shaken for over an hour and it was still extremely harsh, it was so full of air bubbles I thought there was no way it wasn’t mixed enough. ~5 minutes with a paint mixing drill bit and it’s all mixed perfectly. I was very surprised how hard it was to actually mix up a batch of base.
I been mixing a recipe (Ella's shortbead) on ELR for a long time now and never had a problem. Today mixed it up, changed nothing and got a crazy harshness to it. Threw the bottle out mixed up it up again and back to normal. It was strange…any ideas what could have happened?

I've heard you mention Capella has diacetyl in like the custard, cream ect but I've asked Capella directly and they told me they have never used Diacetyl and it isn't in any of their flavours so are you wrong or is Capella lying?

I've had serious issues with citrus flavors. I just made up a batch of Vurve's Pink Lemonade. My nicotine is brand new from the vendor, so I really don't hope that is the issue. I experience that I use way too much juice, so I tried to amp up the nicotine level, and maybe I'm simply adjusting to it. It's 70/30 VG PG and 6MG, and it feels like my throat is going to constrict. Albeit I don't have asthma but making an uneducated guess, I guess that how it feels like. It might just need to sit overnight to let the flavors merge. What are your experiences with very citrus-y flavors?

dude… tried mixing up your watermalone recipe to the dot and i find it so harsh its almost impossible to vape… I find that a lot of fruit base juices give me the same issue
Squonk bottles breaking down can cause harshness as well. Well kinda. More off note of burning rubber.
I've been using wizard labs. They've been good to me. I throw my nicotine in the freezer when I have to store it. Great video Wayne. 👍👍

I would like also to add two more reasons that may led to e-liquid harshness
1- Could be your coil and the way you pre ready heat it that might still got what's called "Hot spot" and that's will cause unpleasant harshness vape experience.
2- The amount of how much cotton and it's length used for your atomizer, it should be cut in proper measurement so the e-liquid path through the cotton would be more seficient feeding coil inner diameter.

I've been having some problems with harshness for quite a while and I always bought quality nicotine, the guys in store said that the reason was that I was using a nicotine with a vg base and it wasn't mixed evenly. I switched over to some nicotine with pg base and it is a lot better.

I always order my niç with a pg base. I was told if I order my nic in a VG base it tastes better. But I thought it would be harder to shake up the nic. Have heard of this?
I dont know man. Lb nic is garbage. Nude nicotines never smells or never has any color until it gets a few months old, even then its hard to see. You dont notice how bad it is because you vape a very low nic level. I mix 8 mg and there is a HUGE difference between different nic at that level. Open up that bottle of lb nic and tell me it doesnt smell like a dirty ash tray. Lb is by far the worst nic I've ever used.
Is it better to get VG nicotine or PG nicotine base? Also, I am from south america, I've been buying nicotine from liquid barn, but it takes about 10 to 15 days to arrive here, and I'm having this problem of my e juices been harsh, do you think thats couse of the time it is on the heat on the way here? thanks

The nic salt from nicotine river irritated my throat and make cough. It wasn't really harsh but it would give me throat a weird tickle. It's the only nic salt I've ever tried. So I don't know if other salts whould irritate me or if it's just that one brand. I was only mixing them a 3mg for DL and 9mg for MTL.

I think it had just been on there shelf out in the light or just not looked after the way nicotine should be. maybe you should do a video on just on nicotine storage long term. My taste buds are so sensitive to pg anything even higher then 30%pg and it taste horrible to me but I don’t like anything higher then a 70%vg because it just don’t wick quick enough and don’t hold enough flavor for me so ya right at 70/30 is perfect for me..thanks for your videos they are a life savor for me I’m just about a year into diy and am still learning a lot
