After the Camden police force disbanded, they grew in size. That wasn't mentioned and I offer my sincere apologies. However, the info that was presented was still correct. Minneapolis will most likely be taking the opposite approach. Of course there are still going to be criminals-they won't disappear. The thing is that the city of Minneapolis is not only looking at Camden as an example. They are also looking at places like Denver where social workers are dispatched. While the police force will get smaller, other resources will be at hand who are trained and familiar with many different situations where police officers struggle. Also, the funding will be allocated to things such as education and other emergency services which will strengthen the protective side of the emergency force as well as educating the next generations so the crime rate could potentially go down. As said in the video, nobody knows what exactly will happen; we are just painting a more realistic picture with the facts that we have.
Lol funny how you fail to mention that Camden’s police force DOUBLED in size. This, in part with working with the community, is what de-escalated crime rates in Camden. It’s also why New York City turned itself around in the 80’s and 90’s. The police along with the community acted together. So….Camden still has an active actual police force, THAT HAS DOUBLE IN SIZE, whereas Minneapolis will have jack all when violent crimes are committed by smart and dangerous criminals taking advantage of this “defund”. If you think the mob or other related crime syndicates don’t exist in Minneapolis…good luck over there. You won’t have a “purge”…but you will have higher crime rates with next to ZERO forces against formidable criminals that take advantage of morons.
