  1. Vonnie, this looks so yummy – I'm gonna make a pot roast – I have one in the freezer. (Gonna is a southern word, here in North Carolina).

  2. I used all kinds of fancy recipes in attempts to duplicate the pot roast my mom made in my childhood decades ago. I finally asked her for the "recipe", and she said, "chuck roast, potatoes, onions, carrots, salt and pepper". She made the pot roast in a granite roaster, but I like your low-mess method better. I found one lonely oven bag in the back of my pantry, so Vonnie's Pot Roast is on the menu this weekend!

  3. I bet the house smells great when you’re cooking that. Fantastic looking meal!!! FYI…. My parents have the same container you had your gravy in.

  4. Thank you Vonnie! Would have never thought of using a turkey bag for a roast, but we'll certainly give it a try. Love your commentary about lumps in the gravy! Lololol. Keep the videos coming!

  5. I use the cornstarch as well. I don't use a bag, however I have in the past a few times. I put two bay leaves and a tablespoon or two of those dehydrated minced onions you get from the mennonite mercantile and all of the other things that you do. Those onions just boost the flavor of the other ingredients. Wish I had left overs for lunch when I make a roast. What my Mom said about a few lumps in the gravy was those are expertly made itty bitty dumplings a bonus for those I love and so hard to make. hahaha Another good one Vonnie. Will be keeping an eye out for ya. Peace.

  6. Looks delish!!! To avoid lumps….put water in with the cornstarch and mix well…zero lumps!! Probably two tbls cornstarch and 3 tbls water…like a dream!

  7. I love this kind of meal. We make it alittle different in scandinavia, but this looks amazing, so im going to try this next week – with gravy 😄👌👍

  8. Another BTB fan. I use it too. With the Instant Pot you can brown the meat and cook it all in about 25 minutes with much the same result. Even make your gravy in the pot after cooking.

  9. You gonna have to quit this cooking. Im suppose to loose weight for my back. .Martins a lucky man. Bet he takes some of that cooking to the cabin.
