  2. Good review I end up buying the cub cadet Ultima ZT2 54 great machine and the bagging system works really well easy to take of n put back on n the prices are similar I paid 3900 for the zero turn with a reinforced deck n 600 for the bagging system and a 3 year warranty unlimited miles electronic n engine that sealed the deal for me the best warranty on lawns on the market today the Toro looks really good to 👍🏽

  3. Purchased a Timecutter 50" MyRide last week and returned it after (1) 3.5 hour mow. I have about 1.5 acres of lawn and about 2 acres of "yard" that is hilly and rough.
Here are the issues I had.
    1. Starting it was problematic. Something wasn't right, don't know what it was, but sometimes it started instantly and sometimes not, and sometimes I felt lucky it started.
    2. Tires were extremely slick even in just a damp lawn. I believe the tires are very undersized for this mower. IF you are on flat even, level ground you won't notice maybe.
    3. Drive units were not synched. Mower pulled to the left constantly requiring correction – especially in low speed.
    4. Belt/pulley covers fell off constantly
    5. Burns a literal crap ton of gas.
    6. The drive handles when in drive position hit my thighs.
    7. This mower is a toy for homeowners that have VERY simple yards to mow with very tame terrain. Don't believe the hype and understand the type of lawn you have.
I purchased at Toro Titan 54" MyRide and it is awesome. I love it and should have purchased it initially. NONE of the problems above are an issue.

  4. Toro has the most innovation on the residential side by far. They created the first wide-cut mower at 30" that's set up like a conventional 21" mower for compact mowing but with a 40% wider cut called a TimeMaster 30, which is an amazing machine. Copied by MTD but not even close. I've owned a TimeMaster. Amazing. Can't go back to a 21" mower. They created the Personal Pace self-propelled system that cannot be touched in the industry. They began the stowing system that they call stow and go or something like that for walk behinds where one can store it upright in a garage. They brought the blade stop feature to the residential walk behind customer. They and Honda popularized the electric start option for walk behinds for a reasonable premium. Toro found a way to get around the cartel of Briggs and Stratton, Kawasaki and Kohler and licensed a company to build spec'd out engines for them, so they could give us more bang for the buck (Note: MTD has done this as well but not with the same quality and reputation outcome as Toro). They have the first walk-behind, cordless or corded electric that is a full size walk behind mower with a 22" blade and 60 volt capacity. They keep adding innovative features and up'ing the game while staying price competitive. In previous years, this has mostly been with respect to walk behinds; but now they are coming alive with ZTRs and making the competition squirm. The 2020 TimeCutter series has many, many improvements and optional features for a competitive price that goes way beyond what they offered for 2019. Can't go wrong with Toro. I mean, it is possible for them to make a lemon; but all-in-all, they are the best at the residential at giving customers value and standing behind their products.

  5. Great review. I'd like to add just a little about pricing. Firstly, although Toro doesn't offer as many price points and choice on larger decks that are 50+ inches as they do the 42" sized mowers, if you're willing to settle for a 50" deck with a Kawasaki or Kohler engine, which are of similar power and displacement as the Toro-branded engine shown here, and you don't want your mower to include the premium that comes with the MyRide suspension system, I see an online store selling model #75750 for $3,150 and free shipping; same deck construction; same quality mower; and I believe the same transmission but with a 4" more narrow cut. A second alternative is a 60" deck without the MyRide system listed at a different online store for $4,023 and free shipping that includes the same quality 10" gauge deck and Hyrdro Gear ZT-2800. The 60" deck model has this same Toro-branded, 24.5 hp engine as the one reviewed here. You're losing the fancy suspension system, which is great but pricey, but adding 6" of cutting width and a higher-quality, more powerful transmission for a couple hundred dollars. I also found this exact-reviewed model without the bag accessory listed at $3,899 at one of these online stores. I'm not against the MyRide system. I'm simply pointing out that any model without that set up makes the Toro brand much more competitive with other brands. If you're in the market for a 42" ZTR, you have many set up choices with TimeCutter. You can get a stamped deck with an upgraded V-twin engine; or the base model with a stamped deck and a single cylinder 450ish cc engine; or you can add the fabricated deck and V-twin both for a heck of a deal $2,900 at one store right now; or upgrade to all these same features + the Myride set up, and then you're somewhere in the neighborhood of $3,300 if you shop around, which is also a great deal off the list price, as the brands are sort of in a price war right now to the consumer's benefit. Basically, if you want MyRide, and you think it's worth it, you're going to add about $400 to an otherwise, similarly set-up mower (the list price difference is $500, but shopping around May 2020, the real-world difference is $400). However, some of the larger mowers don't have a comparable MyRide versus non MyRide version. For instance, like the one reviewed here. There is not a non MyRide 54" Timecutter model. It should be noted that Toro does not build lawn mower engines themselves. The Toro-branded engines are lisenced by Toro but built by Loncin of China. These current engines used on their ZTRs, however, have been around a while and have held up very well by all accounts and have a great warranty and are backed by Toro, who is known for taking care of customers for warranty issues. Loncin has actually built motorcycle / scooter engines for BMW, so they are no slouch, but they are a Chinese company with the manufacture location also in China.

  6. SC, I gotta tell you, a year ago I bought and did your vinegar and it worked exactly as you said. Again last year, I got the new trimmer head and now I look forward to using it as often as needed. This year I saw the trimmer blade vid, but I am still waiting on Amazon to deliver it and I know its gonna be awesome.

With all that said, if I had an additional acre to mow I'd dig up 5G's to purchase this monster, thanks to you! Keep'em coming!

  7. I agree with Rich Gordon that the machine is pricey for one that's running the 2200 hydros. Cub Cadet ZT2 comes in at $3699 with the 2800 serviceable hydros and a Kawasaki engine. Toro has created a more comfortable and user friendly machine though.

  8. That is a really nice machine. I like everything about it except the hydros. I think that machine has the hydro gear 2200 hydros that are entry level non serviceable units. I have a 2 year old toro mx5050 which is now discontinued. It has the same engine, the same deck but in a 50 inch. It dose not have the my ride but it has the hydro gear 2800 units that are beefier and fully serviceable. My mx5050 has been a beast and I love it. I just don't like that toro took away the better hydros and gave you a gimmicky suspension system with the new units. At this price point if I were shopping for a zero turn today I'd look at the cub cadet zt2 or the bobcat crz. They are the same price point and you get the better transmissions.

  9. Great review and you really do a great job. My wife and I love all your videos. My wife also says you have a very relaxing voice. Keep up the great work and reviews. Thank you

  10. Here’s a few things I wished you have mentioned.
    1. Tool-less belt covers. This is a great feature that makes belt changes a breeze.
    2. Smart Speed transmission. This allows the user to go as slow or as fast as desired WHILE maintaining full throttle blade tip speed. This is huge for folks who are new to zero turns or maybe ladies or older folks who don’t want or feel comfortable with going high speed but don’t want to lose cut performance by throttling down to keep the mower speed slower.
    3. It comes with a 3 year, unlimited hour warranty. That’s fantastic. Their engines are great.
    Hope this helps!

  11. That's a nice deck. Lot homeowner mowers have 14 gauge stamped steel decks. The thicker deck is a must in areas with sandy soil. The separate wheel motors are nice. I would like to see a screw on automotive type filter on the hydraulic system

  12. Just one thing I was wondering. Where is the battery located and is it easy to remove for winter charging. I’ll own one of these some day I hope 😁

  13. I know this question is alittle off beat but what is the soap mix that you use on the mower
Once again thank you for your time and effort in these informative videos

  14. Great review. I really appreciate all your videos, they are concise accurate and helpful. If you could choose any similar zero turn mower and price was not a consideration, which would you choose?

  15. Could you do the video on cleaning your mowers? There's a mix of opinions wether you can pressure spray engine or not. It seems on this video that you have your way of doing it

  16. Do you know who manufacturers the engine? Looks like a nice zero turn. Side note: love the P21S total auto wash you recommended. Great stuff !!
