  1. Ok for one. Never use the swr meter on the radio. Always use a standalone unit. Radios are never accurate. Matter of fact their way off. With a CB radio stock you should easily be getting 5-8 miles depending on your surroundings. Now with a more powerful radio that pushes more watts and a radio that is properly tuned you can easily talk 25 miles but that little Willie antenna has to go. Get a real Wilson or even a Sirio performer antenna. Sirio's are one of the best and I have had them all. Also get a radio with SSB. Alot of people talk on SSB and you can easily talk to other states and countries

  2. Dead ?????til they find out your cell networks are down due power lost or other mishaps hahaha same for the vhf and UHF repeaters with no power hahaha ,, give me an export cb ,

  3. the truckers around here use them. and when the sun spots are around elven and ten work good. like most thing a few rotten apples in the barrel spoil it for all. In the old days we went to side band to get away from the trouble makes. Once when I got my ham ticket forty meeter was good. so you get trouble maker and 7200 hundred is dead. thanks to a trouble maker. I miss the guy out there.

  4. Cb is open air ? When towers go down Cb will always be there ! Still good for emergency and good for long trips there’s always someone out there 10/4 over & our!

  5. Amateur radio 2 meter FM is in about the same shape CB is, maybe a little better. But it's nothing like it was 20 years ago. I think cell phones and the internet are largely to blame.

  6. Dude it would literally be awesome to drive on the road and hear people on their CB's. My uncle's talked about when it was popular and everybody used them and my brothers talked about how they used them when they went offroading and mudding or rock crawling. Me and some of my buddies have CBs but we ain't all got them hooked up yet. I'm just looking to start a CB revolution here in the small town of Taylorsville NC

  7. ……………YEAH IT'S DEAD 4 SURE…………..I'M IN ADELAIDE…….SOUTH AUSTRALIA AND WAS AN OPERATOR OF 27 MEGAHERTZ AND UHF AND OVER THE YEARS IT AS DIED…………….I HAVE BEEN INTO CB RADIO SINCE 1975 AND OVER THE YEARS IT HAS DIED…….NOW INSTEAD OF CB I NOW USE A COMPUTER……..SO NO MORE CQ DX AS TECHNOLOGY HAS TAKEN OVER…….PIONEER RADIO 626 IS NO MORE……………BOO HOO………….

  8. I just hooked up a radio Monday and haven't got a check yet… Don't drive near the interstate. But will go out of my way to. CB will be the new mode of communication when phone stop working.

  9. im just getting back into it since 1982, got to relearn a lot but looking forward to it, i agree that we should have a new movement. we need the truckers to dtart the momentum

  10. I got myself a CB AM/SSB radio for 50$ mobile antenna included. An old TRC-453 radio shack still working like new. Anyways plugged it into my car and heard many local conversations going on SSB. Guess i'm hooked again!

  11. Awesome 👍. … I just got back into CB radio after 40 years and yes it took many miles and many trucks with antennas before someone responded. I was starting to think I bought a brand new defective radio. Good video.. enjoyed it.. 10-4 good buddy
