The first of three videos on The Witcher Series. This is focused on the first game but discusses all three of them, plus some comments on the books and TV …
why did you say "Innocent" people like that, at 2:11:12.
Thanks to this video I was finally inspired to play through the witcher and witcher 2 after sitting on them in my steam library for years. Yojr insightful commentary is helping me through these tough times and I can't thank you enough for that.
That clip of witcher 2 being buggy juxtaposed with the dialogue in the clip is literally the best thing
Too Long dude you can cutshort this video
i don't think a hint drop in a later game can save a bad ending in an earlier game. how long is it between games? how many of your player base won't read the books? many will but as many will not. and if it were me i know i wouldn't likely even remember the name alvin by the time the next game rolled around. and as you have said these weren't a planned trilogy. so something thrown into a later game thrown in likely to try and save the ending of the previous game just doesn't cut it for me.
Now you can say that the witcher game saga suffer for several easy playground, like automátic life health or upgrade skill that normally would be much work in another games.
Rdr 2 is a great step for a witcher 4 I can imagine that game with the realistic enviroment.
Ah my favorite card game.
I looked at the runtime and thought i would last an hour at the most but i ended up watching it all, great work Joseph.
You can kinda save Berengar in the end. It’s hard to do and not intended. He won’t say anything new and the journal still say that he died against Javed.
Where is the Sekiro Critique Joseph huh
I don't want to be an asshole, but honestly, was it worth it spending 1 year to make a Witcher 1 video ? I feel like a lot of people did not play this and probably won't and the videos that we want to see will be heavily delayed or never come out. It's heartbreaking to criticize my favorite game critic, but you could have made Sekiro/Disco Elysium videos and just save the Witcher 1 for a drought period. For me, it wasn't worth it to wait so much for this video, even though it's top notch quality and it's clear you put so much hard work into it.
seriously you learned Polish for the witcher???
Learning Polish just so you can re-read the books in their native language, now THAT'S dedication!
That's cool
Truly a video for quarantine
To answe your question, yes, the Jedi take children from their homes at a young age
Brother you’re better than you give yourself credit!
Hey, you, scrolling by, remember: this dude literally learnt an entire language and spent a ridiculos amount of time and effort in order to make this, for you, for free.
Damn dude, I don't watch video game stuff on youtube normally, but this one blew me away. You gave voice to what I feel about the first Witcher game so accurately, to the point that I played the game back when it first came out and dropped it after a while, the same as you. I would go as far as to say that the first game surpasses the second one when it comes to atmosphere, music, art direction, and the overall fantasy feeling, while the second one excels at linear storytelling and political intrigue side of the Witcher universe. Looking forward to hear what you have to say for the other games.
what a good analysis, you dont skip a beat. good job
I can see that this video was….the result of much labor.
Really enjoyed your video. Felt like I was going back through the game again. Interesting to see all the things I didn’t realize affected the story. Can’t wait to see the next few videos!
Damn this game was ugly at release but it aged worse than milk. Witcher should have stayed as books.

This was a great video.
Your primary motive for learning a new language was to read a book that you've already read? I applaud your commitment, sir. Great vid, BTW!
I didn't even look at the bottom left until he said something. I coulda been here hours and been like "Is this the same video?" Fantastic video.
Play persona 5 royal lol 😂
god i hope the one lie to all the truths is learning a new language because if it isn't that is true dedication
