The good news about recycled spare parts is that recyclers would be happy to sell you the parts you need for a fraction of their original price. Most recyclers even give warrantees on the spare parts they are selling so that it would be easy for you to return or replace the parts that are defective or are not really suitable for your car.
The first place you should consider is your local auto wreckers or junk vehicle removal. You never know what hidden gem you may find amid the rubble. Often people will dispose of a vehicle without realizing the potential worth in it. Many would rather not invest the time and money necessary for the restoration of classic cars. That alone is a great way to get them to unload their classic on you. There is a good chance you will find an old car at the junkyard that has been left there due to age or missing parts. If restoration is what you plan, this can be a goldmine.
Even though part of the engine is dead doesn’t mean the entire thing is. The car battery may still be good, the alternator, air conditioning unit, belts, cam shaft, and so much more can be sold because these are items that are frequently sought out by individuals. So it is a good idea to take advantage of that by placing a sign in front of your yard or an ad in the paper. That is if you know how to safely remove the car parts on your own. If you do, then you can maximize your profit on the car because many individuals seek out salvage engine parts before they will go to the auto parts store and buy new ones.
