The network said in a statement on the topic, ‘In time, we will turn to the next chapter of The Daily Show, and all of our incredible correspondents will be at the top of that list. Until then, we are focused on celebrating Trevor and thanking him for his many contributions.’
Insiders said that there had been internal support at The Daily Show for supporting comics such as Roy Wood Jr., who has been a correspondent on the show; and Jordan Klepper, who has also been a contributor. Other spotlighted performers on the program include Desi Lydic and Ronny Chieng.

Noah made his announcement last month in saying that he felt gratitude after seven years of hosting the show, which Jon Stewart left in 2015
Noah and his team are slated to cover the midterm elections in Atlanta next month, and the show will commemorate Noah’s time at the helm with a December 5 episode that takes a ‘celebratory look back at his greatest moments.’
Noah said in a statement that Paramount exec Chris McCarthy ‘has been an amazing leader and partner who has helped me realize my dream of working not just in front of the camera, but also behind the scenes, producing content which now airs across the Paramount family.’
He added: ‘I’m truly excited to see what the future holds.’
McCarthy called Noah ‘an incredible talent who has left an indelible mark on The Daily Show and we’re grateful for his creative partnership over the past seven years.’
Noah made his announcement last month in saying that he felt gratitude after seven years of hosting the show, kolaybet which Stewart left in 2015.
‘I realized, kolaybet after the seven years, my time is up,’ the Johannesburg, South Africa-born TV personality said.
The network faced similar circumstances seven years ago, when Jon Stewart said in February of 2015 that he was departing the series
Noah said that ‘so many people didn’t believe in us,’ adding that ‘it was a crazy bet to make’ to anoint him host of the series.
‘I still think it was a crazy choice – this random African,’ he said. ‘I wanted to say thank you to the audience for an amazing seven years. It’s been wild. It’s been truly wild.’
Noah said that traveling recently gave him a better perspective on what he wanted out of his future.
‘I miss learning other languages,’ he said. ‘I miss going to other countries and putting on a show.’
Noah’s departure comes amid a time a number of his colleagues have ended their shows, including Conan O’Brien last year and Samantha Bee earlier this year.
