in the e3 trailer, the music for some stages were removed. this includes the music for the level where mario attempts to get bowser to fire bowser jr. in the e3 demo, much of the music is different from the final release. several tracks were remixed. for example, the music for the level where mario attempts to get bowser to fire bowser jr. was remixed with a theme similar to that of the stage on which bowser jr. is being fired. this is confirmed by many of the remixes are being remixed to the same style as this stage’s music. this might be because the mario bros. are a group of musicians that would be remixed similar to the super mario bros. this is also seen in the super mario bros. 3 remixes.
in a few early-game screenshots, several textures and art has been changed. for instance, the art of falco, piranha plant, shulk, and palutena had changed as the game developed. wario was also intended to have golden buttons on his overalls. luigi’s purple recolour costume was intended to have a green l on the top instead of a purple one. wolf also originally had a darker shade of purple for his normal model. in the e3 demo, many things were different. the models of pikachu, villager, mario, and link were originally in-game models instead of original artwork. sonic’s recolours were all supposed to have blue hints, but different colours were added to things such as his shoes or fur. there were also updates to remove a feather on mr. game & watch’s side-smash, due to the feather possibly representing native-american stereotypes, eventually causing backlash from the community. this feather was removed from his model and from the fire attack spirit in the games first update. there are also unused recolours for ridley, ice climbers, pokmon trainer, and villager. there are also unused files for the pokmon dragonite. this could possibly mean that either there were going to be more high-quality graphics in kalos pokmon league, or dragonite was considered as a pok ball summon. in hero’s reveal trailer, the mp cost of some moves are changed. oomph was 18 mp and psyche up was 17 mp, then being changed to 14 mp and 16 mp respectively.
