Hide comments is a Firefox add-on, that does much more than just hide comments in a webpage, it also lets you hide meta information (eg: links) as well. The only disadvantage is that it also hides the source of the linked page. So, you will not be able to visit the link source (eg: wikipedia.com) by mistake, but that’s no big deal. I, for one, prefer the feel of the extension. I use it on several pages, often without knowing what the first sentence in the comments is, because most of the time, I do not want to read the comments. It takes the emotion out of it. Having said that, I, for one, will never use it on something I actually want to view, like the original page of a word document, but I imagine it would be useful on the blogs where I’m reading.
