  1. Maybe its possible to use a heated blanket, I never tried it myself but it could be set up on one of those plug in timers and also its got a stat on it to regulate the temperature, just a though.

  2. Do yourselves a favor, soak the seeds in water with 15% of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. Soak for 24 hours then place in damp paper towel on a warming mat and cover with a blanket or something to insulate and keep light out!

  3. I have a hard time germinating fennel (variyadi) (spice/herb) seed. Do you know what's the germination temp and days to germinate are for fennel. Thanks.

  4. I planted some ball squash seeds 10 days ago and they still have not sprouted. I dug one of the seeds up to look at its condition and it was still completely in tact. These seeds have been outside in small starter pots while waiting to germinate. We have had lots of weather fluctuation with many cloudy days and cool nights since I planted them. Should I replant a new crop or continue watching if these seeds sprout?

  5. I'm a first time germinater lol
I put all my veggies in one store bought green house. Some like cucumbers sprouted up in 3 days. What do I do w the one that have grown out of soil because I thought I needed to lift lid but the others are not as fortunate to pop in so little days. Also some of the cucs came right out of the soil. I wasn't aware at the time that there was a specific way to plant these. Could it be I put the seeds in upside down. They look wierd. They look like the seed is at the end of what grew out. I wondering what I did wrong. J found your show, iv subscribed and will share. You do an excellent job explaining even to us newbies.
    Thank you for that.

  6. I germinated onion green peppers cabbage and cauliflower seeds that were from 1954 still in original packages. I have them started right now under leds.

  7. Mr. Stuart:
The parts of a flower are so constructed that very, very often the wind will cause pollination.
If not, then a bee or any other nectar gathering creature can create the same situation.
Yes, anything that gets the pollen to the pistils, write it on the list.
I'll try to make it crystal-clear:
The flower's insatiable passion turns its life into a circus of debauchery!
Mr. Stuart: Now you see just how the stamen gets its lusty dust onto the stigma.
And why this frenzied chlorophyllous orgy starts in spring is no enigma!
We call this quest for satisfaction a what, class?
    Sorority girls: A photo-periodic reaction!
Mr. Stuart: Oh, that's good, that's very good.
Hey, I'm lost where are we? Chapter 2, page 5…
    Reproduction, reproduction!
Put your pollen tube to work.
    Reproduction, reproduction!
    Make my stamen go berserk.
    Reproduction!
I don't think they even know what a pistil is!
I got your pistil right here…

    Where does the pollen go?

Sorry, this song popped into my head as you were trying to explain everything.
