Hi.. this is been my most favourite plan💝 thank you the this post 👍
Hey, thank you for sharing those informations! I have a question, maybe you can help? I have mine for about one year, it's really been through hell but is starting to grow new leaf and get better, but middle trunk lost all of his leaves and when it tries to push out a new one, it gets yellow and brownish real quick. I feel like I haven't been watering too much, less then once a week but throughly, should I repot it and check the roots? Thannkkks
There is literally five of these growing on some old pine tree logs uphill from my house and they are huge. There is also one growing on an old wooden ladder in the yard. Never knew these were in demand like that. And they aren't growing in soil. Just attached to the logs and ladder amazing. I'm in the caribbean btw.
What is your potting mix ratio of soil to orchid bark to sand and perlite? Wing it? 😄
Hi! I just purchased this one on clearance (2 gallon pot)for $2 at Lowe's. The stems are seriously droopy. I had to repot it because there was some root rot which I was able to remove and there were winged ants and some worms in the pot…eeww. Soaked it, removed all dead leaves, rotted roots and had to cut back the roots as well. Lost 2 of the babies. Finally got it all cleaned, in another pot and the stems are so droopy they just lay down(had to stake it in 3 spots). Since this is not a climber will the stems ever get strong enough to stand alone or will I need to wait until it grows a trunk for it to be strong enough? TIA for your input😊
my philodendron leaves is turning brown/ black. can it still be saved?? 🥺
Can the trunk be cut off and pot the green plant be ok????
Nothing bad to say about this video. my personal experience with this exact same plant has been different in that what was described in this video is way overkill, You definitely don't have to do as much as described to have a very fast growing healthy thick plant. My tree philodendron is a house plant year round. I live in zone 5 where it gets down to -10 in the winter so it's only been a house plant.Mine is 15 years old now. I remember exactly when and where I bought it and currently it is 6 1⁄2' high by 5' around with very large leaves that are very deep in color. I have NEVER in the 15 years I've had this plant fertilized it, not once. I have repotted it numerous times, probably every 3 years. When I repot it, I have never sprayed all the soil off the roots. What I know about house plants in general is that healthy bacteria and micro flora cling to the roots and washing all the soil off actually lowers the immunity of the plant and makes it prone to illnesses related to transplant shock. Not saying every plant that has the roots washed off is going to die, But it's definitely not necessary and from what I've been taught and what I've learned through experience is they benefit from having some of the older dirt on the root. My plant is an example that you can nearly ignore it and never fertilize it and it will grow like crazy anyway. as for light, the room I have it in is pretty dark. I don't have any windows in my house that face the south side and the room I want it in just has terrible natural lighting, but again that hasn't affected this plants growth in anyway. So if this plant seemed like 1 that is high maintenance and you are deterred from owning 1 because of that, no worries. Trust me, they definitely are not high maintenance. do not need fancy soil do not need fertilizer and they will thrive in many different light conditions
I just bought this plant for 12.99 @ the local grocery store! So happy
Thank you!
Hi, If my Philodendron B turns brown then the leaves go soggy, does that mean that there is not enough drainage in my pot? I have it sitting in a pot with only one drainage hole.
OMG!!!!! I didn't know how big they would get, just received 2 4in high Bipinnatifidum.
I passed this plant up today because I wanted cactus ….. bought 11 today but I really want this plant and I know I'll be back getting it . Haha I think I'll keep it as a house plant though.
How do you propagate those
Hi! I have a philodendron sollioum that my friend gave me a few years ago. It is old and quite large, maybe four feet wide. It likes to spread out all over my floor but does not like to grow upwards. Is it possible to train these to grow upwards? I've read that it isn't but I was curious what your opinion was. Thanks!
We have one of these at my office. Its taken months for me to figure out what it is!
Great man!! Thank you!! Any tips for AZ with this plant?
Acanthus grow all over my side yard kind of like a weed and I honestly love them they’re self sustaining and beautiful 💙
I just transplanted my plant. Watered plant and let it drain. The next day a few leaves actually looked overwatered and obviously were waterlogged. Is that normal? The rest of the plant looks super healthy. Moved it to a sunnier room for the day, thinking that the soil should dry out somewhat. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks.
In situ, here in Brasil they are giants and majestic, soon i will post a video. The correct pronunciation is in LATIN, not aglicized.
Hi! Have you ever taken a cutting of a philodendron selloum? Aka a tree philodendron. my friend and I are having difficulty figuring out how to take a cutting from this plant, it basically grows monopodial from the center, like a tree. So we were just wondering if you've ever tried this and had success?
I have one of these little guys and his stems are supper saggy. Always have been. He’s healthy and been this way since I got him 4 or so years ago. Is this normal? I know I’m larger ones the stems are thicker therefore they stand more erect. A friend mentioned it the other day and I got worried I’ve been doing something wrong.
I just purchased a philodendron selloum with 5 curvy trunks (nearly one inch diameter each). Can I stake them to a pole covered in coconut fiber? Is this plant a climber like Monstera delicosia?
I just purchased my first plant, Philodendron Hope! I’m excited to see the progress🙂
I've found with mine that if you let more then on plant grow on the stem they don't fill out very well. The pups can be used as cuttings.
My leaves keep getting mushy and turning yellow I have only had it for 4 weeks what is wrong with it, it's inside my house. Help
I have one of these in my yard in Santa Cruz CA. It's about 7 feet tall now and probably 10 feet wide. I'm trying to propagate it by cutting off pieces that have a lot of roots and leaves
How much of each ingredient did you add to your soil mixture? I have a small philodendron that will need to be repotted soon and want to make sure it has an optimum growing medium.
