Why does xml.etree.ElementTree read.NET’s Exception stacktrace?
I have a function called MsgRead() in my C# application that reads a text file into memory and then writes it to a database. It works fine for most cases, but for certain files I get:
ValueError: element not allowed as child of element doctype
at line:
text = _xw.etree.tostring(doc, encoding=’latin-1′)
This is the part of the code that reads the file:

text = _xw.etree.tostring(doc, encoding=’latin-1′)

It’s reading most files without problems, but when it encounters an XML file with a DTD, it fails. I suppose it has something to do with the Exception Stacktrace. This is what the file looks like:
