Sean McNulty, advisor to Canopy Growth and Canopy Rivers, was an interesting interview. It starts at 58:21. I think a lot of the market haven't quite done enough DD on Canopy Rivers to understand exactly what their purpose and strategy is. Calling them a venture capital arm is true, but they aren't exactly going about business in the same way a traditional venture capital spin off would. In my estimation, Rivers is essentially Canopy's way of sticking fingers in start up pies all over the world while they're still small/cheap as several first world countries approach medical and recreational legalization.
