This GrowerTalks magazine webinar covers the similarities and differences of growing cannabis commercially in a warehouse setting vs. in a greenhouse.

  1. IMO, greenhouse is inbetween indoor and outdoor, because it is indoors, but the outdoor sunlight is regulated better. So its not outdoor, or indoor, its both

  2. the end they talk about 12 hours light on plus lighting during dark cycle and call it night interuption or "mum" lighting ( Chrysanthemum abbreviated 7 on 23 off cycle mentioned used in that flower growing) a guy who goes by one eye, ( @oneeyerc on instagram breeder of dog walker cultivar) successfully uses the what he and many cannabis growers call the "gas lantern routine" where in middle of night turn lights on to interupt dark cycle for a hour or two to prevent veg plants from going into flower. this name was taken because some green houses used to use gas lanterns at night to prevent plants going into flower. oneeyerc has had success but many others who try fail or give up before finishing due to slowed or reduced growth vs running a more traditional light cycle

  3. 949 COrrection your not cloning stop using bullshit stoner terms your cutting clones are a genetic term done in petri dishes fk dont be so fkn ignorant this is why the industry can be taken seriously to get big money when the science that drives it has scientific terms to educate business and stoners on proper terms and use of terms!!!!!!

  4. Finished the video. Excellent Job.

I would like to confirm from commercial experience (since 1986) a few things Nick said:

There was a question about recommended lighting strengths perhaps being too high for cannabis. Nick's numbers are not high at all but are excellent starting points. If fact, if you have all the puzzle pieces together correctly, you can productively push the light numbers significantly higher.

Max asked a question about the overall effectiveness of LEDs in cannabis and I'd like to confirm from extensive personal experience that with the correct LED setup, not only are they comparable to HID, but superior. Stay away from the 'Ebay' LED brands (there are countless) and go with true agriculture LED (the ones used in the large commercial greenhouses) and not only is there substantial energy saved, but better quality and productivity. We've become partial to a brand Nick mentioned (Fluence) and no, I have zero association with their company other than paying full price.

    Thanks for the excellent video.

  5. I'm about half way through the presentation but want to make two comments while I have the video paused at this point.

First, great presentation so far, but I'd like to make a couple small corrections – one important and one a nit pick.

1: When discussing the 'cooling mode' slide at 28:00, Nick gets his wet bulb / dry bulb reversed (it's just a a slip of the tongue I'm sure). He says if you have a "70 degree dry bulb temperature, we would actually end up with 76 degree air leaving that pad wall". He means 70 degree wet bulb (and 100 degree dry bulb).

2: It's a "psychrometric" chart (with an "r"), rather than "psychometric" chart as printed on the 28:30 slide and pronounced by Nick. A nit pick I know, but one a greenhouse controls guy would want to have correct on a presentation slide.
