Problems using Django-socialregistration with a custom database

I am trying to create a custom authentication backend and using Django-socialregistration. I am trying to run it on my production server, so I have added the following to my settings.py file:
AUTHENTICATION_BACKENDS = (
‘custom_backend.auth_backend.CustomAuthBackend’,

and this to my myapp/backend/auth_backend.py file:

So far, so good. But when I use a custom auth backend, the django-socialregistration is raising an error that it can’t find the user_name model. It complains:
