  1. Trump is working on anti-marijuana campaigns again right now. I wish all users would turn themselves in at once, nobody could handle the influx of people.
White collar criminals??? Do you know who we have in the White House…. yes I know you do. White collar crime devistates more of the elderly, those who trust the wrong people. Less White Collar Crime is being perused or prosecuted under this administration. It is sad and devistates the most vulnerable. I hope it happens.

  2. You can not win a war on anything, you can edjucate so people can make better desissions . Stop puting your money in weapons and start puting it in edjucation.

  3. GREAT! Now they can prosecute cases that actually deal with matters of endangering people or, y'know, actually criminal activity.

  4. I've been a proponent for legalization of Marijuana and prostitution since 1969. if both are cleaned up and regulated properly they would serve the public well.

  5. Alright all you Stoney McPotheads, blaze one down for this step down the correct and righteous path towards progress and intellectual enlightenment!!

  6. We should stop using the term marijuana as the term itself has roots in racism and xenophobia. I'm not sure if linking to other sites, articles, what have you is appropriate so I will refrain from doing so. Now This has a great video titled "The Term 'Marijuana' Is Rooted in Racism" from back on February 2 of this year.

  7. The Marijuana laws started with William Randolph Hearst. He started the pot war because he owned a lot of timber in which he used to make paper for his newspapers. Do you know what else you can make paper from? Marijuana! Hearst did not grow Marijuana fields, which is also used for very strong rope, so he started a "Trump scare tactic" to make pot illegal. If you look at the old propaganda films he used blacks smoking weed to scare the whites to change the laws concerning Marijuana.

  8. I suspect it is largely a structural bias for the police (as well as perspective). The police are prowling the streets watching for observable crimes that have existed for ages. Fighting, theft, murder, but due to common occurrence and a straightforward resolution, traffic violations, and drug related crimes are more often pursued.

If they actually had police who investigated reports of corporate crimes (like a domestic violence call), watching the internet (for mention of criminal activity), driving by facilities looking for blatant infractions (like improper disposal of waste, or larger crimes). There would certainly be more convictions as a result.

  9. “…marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest, therapeutically active substances known to man.”
    –Francis Young (DEA’s own Judge)

"Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself; and where they are, they should be changed. Nowhere is this more clear than in the laws against possession of marijuana in private for personal use…”
    – Jimmy Carter (U.S.President)

“Congress should definitely consider decriminalizing possession of marijuana… We should concentrate on prosecuting the rapists and burglars who are a menace to society.”
-Dan Quayle (U.S. Representative & Vice President)

"Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could."
“The anti-marijuana campaign is a cancerous tissue of lies, undermining law enforcement, aggravating the drug problem, depriving the sick of needed help and suckering well intentioned conservatives and countless frightened parents.”
    – William F. Buckley Jr. (American conservative author and commentator)

"The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world."
    – Dr. Carl Sagan (American Cosmologist, Astrobilologist, author & science communicator)

“You bet I did -— and I enjoyed it.” ….when asked if he had ever smoked marijuana.
    – Michael Bloomberg (New York City Mayor)

"Pot is a better drug than alcohol. I'll prove it to you. You're at a ball game or a concert, and someone's really violent and aggressive and obnoxious, are they drunk or are they smoking pot?"
“Why is pot against the law? It wouldn't be because anyone can grow it, and therefore you can't make a profit off it, would it?”
“…It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit … unnatural?”
-Bill Hicks (Satirist, Social Critic, Stand-Up Comedian)

Studies have consistently failed to establish the existence of a link between the harshness of a country’s drug laws and its levels of drug use."
    -Kofi Annan (U.N. Secretary General)

    – – And last, but certainly not least (my personal favorite) – –

"If the words "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" don't include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn't worth the hemp it was written on."
    – Terence McKenna (American ethnobotanist, psychonaut, author, advocate for responsible use of natural psychedelic plants)

  10. Personally, I'm glad that this is happening. It's ridiculous. Recreational Cannabis was legalized in my state as of 7/1/2018. There are still bugs that need to be worked out, but at least people don't need to worry on the state level.

However, there are people in prisons who need to be released, and people who need their records expunged.

I agree we also need to discuss the issue of prosecution of white collar criminals and corporations as well.

  11. Canadians who “legally” use, grow or sell weed in Canada, are to be stop at the American border and turned away. Not allowed in America.

  12. Only people who are violent should be kept away from society. Everyone else should be restricted in a more humane way. Speed too much? Lose your license. Simple, effective, humane.
