I went back to India to visit one of my spiritual teachers, Shyam Sundar Das Baba Ji. He left home when he was 12 years old to become a sadhu. He spent years …

  1. I'm Indian. He's saying: We're all the Eternal energy, no one is separate from it. Through japa, meditation, etc one can realize the 'Ram' consciousness or the Eternal energy. Don't smoke too much weed, little bit is okay. If you smoke too much, it might affect your health in a bad way. People like smoking weed because it stops their mind and they get into kind of a subtle Ram consciousness which leads to happy feeling. But it is temperory. It'll fade away after 2 hours. It doesn't help much but little bit is fine.

He seems like a geniune thing to me.

  2. did anyone else hear the cow and then krishna das starting singing like BIG Maharaji was like ok lets start. Love Krishna Das singing absolutely amazing

  3. OH FAAACK! I was surprised and confused to see Krishna Das there. i was like 'WTF! am i seeing things'. Then i saw your description. Gotta tell you, that was a pleasant surprise

Its been 12 years since i first heard his Grammy nominated legends track "om namah shivay" over a spliff, and my love affair with his body of work continues to this day.

Since you know him so well, and absolutely don't know who the hell i am, regardless of that, wave a hi to the legend from my end.

Good for you, mate. And good stuff.

    Cheers!

  4. There is a reason why only Shiva imbibes in alcohol and ganja among the gods. Shiva is will power incarnate (iccha shakti). To imbibe in wine and ganja one must practice will power so they do not over consume it.

A little bit of ganja a little bit of red wine is good for you, but a lot of it is no good. Addiction is no good. Moderation is the key.

The moon on Shiva's head is always a crescent moon which is very little. Never a 1/2 moon or a full moon. The moon is a symbol for soma, which is intoxication. Shiva is only a little drunk or a little high, this is a demonstration of his will power to imbibe with moderation. If you wish to consume ganja and wine for sadhana, you must devote yourself to will power.

Consuming wine and ganja for sadhana is not something I recommend, I believe in many people it's just an excuse to over indulge and destroy themselves. Tantra is a bout indulgence with awareness, which is always moderation.

I never recommend smoking tobacco or consuming hard drugs, they damage the body and have no health benefits at all. I do not even think drinking liquor is good there is too much alcohol in it, a little beer or wine (1-2 servings in a day) is okay. If you eat meat occasionally, it's better to eat fish or poultry, red meat is no good, it has to much blood which contains heme iron which is very destructive to ones health.

  5. To comment on the first fellow: yes you can sing when you have those requirements met, or dance or fuck or whatever. But what about you walk away from this wonderful place and you see that someones has broken into your room and stolen your 1500 dollar mac book pro, or you see your girlfriend smootching with someone else up some ally, or that your mother just has got noted with terminal cancer? There is going to be a whole set of different emotions than the previous ones. So singing and blissful states are nice but they are of no use whatsoever when life comes knocking on our doors.
