I asked what was going on and was told the system had been down since Sunday afternoon and the best the gun store could do was put gun in layaway. I thought to myself damn there it is the catch 22. The fed just has to jam the system or shut it off and bingo no more gun sales. I went back on Wednesday and the system was up and running but still if the fed wanted to they could shut it down and claim its just all jammed up and overloaded and you wont be buying a gun that day..

I live in Champaign, IL and I would like to clear a few things up. First, I am a gun owner and have my concealed carry permit. So, please read this with the understanding that I support the 2A and all other constitutional rights. The sale of guns and alcohol have not been banned in this city. That is generally the headline used as clickbait and it is all anybody understands. The ordinance was past with a broad scope of items that the Mayor could act on if deemed necessary. The ordinance is in place for quick, emergency action. It is not in place to start stripping our rights and it is a short-lived ordinance.
All I ask is that with any article or post that people get to the truth of the story and don't grab the headline that is designed to create an emotional reaction. We are stronger together.
Champaign is a super liberal city because of the U of I mostly, living around here is scary at times. Gangs are getting worse in the area, there have been several homicides around here because they're shooting at each other, Bangers are robbing stores of guns in the area some pawn shops have been hit, but the people who do it get light sentences.
