You’re a world famous pirate captain and your ship just sailed into an un-farmed seaport. The market is full of exotic goods and it’s your job to protect the trading houses from the other captains. There are no game designers this time. The you decide where to go, what to buy and for how much and most importantly, whom to battle. You set your own pace, because there’s no artificial locomotion or teleportation.
Gameplay
Your ship navigates the market with the headless touch controller as your hands. Touch the goods you want to take and they appear in the economy panel. Pick a target with your crossbow and watch your target’s stats change. Deselect goods in the market to take them back.
Combat
You can change the pitch of your ship’s cannons as well as the power you give them. Aim with the crossbow and fire to hit your target. The game lets you shoot from many ranges, including long-range cannons that can hit targets several blocks away. Bonus gold and experience is earned for every target you hit.
Visuals
The game looks and sounds like the pirate themed games you’ve seen before, but with a VR twist. The player’s ship moves realistically inside of a well-designed world.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer is available as “Free for All” and “Singleplayer”.

I downloaded the game, tried it at home, on the road…

It works OK on my HTC Vive or on my VIVE in a standalone mode but in a roomscale environment it’s a pain. You have to keep your head on a swivel, or have you people floating around you on your head. You can never go far away from your opponent unless your in the absolute center of the room. It’s not really a VR game to me because it’s really a gimmick. You are sitting on a chair and there are other people in the same room as you.

It feels like they should have called this “Lone Pirate” instead of “Roomscale”.

There is also nothing to do with your actual body. You can’t do much but look at your coins and hit buttons with your remote. All that said, I loved the game the first time I played it.
