How to Submit a Sitemap Using Webmaster Tools
Submitting your XML sitemaps to Google Webmaster Tools (GWT) is an integral step in optimizing your website, helping search engines more quickly indexing them.
Google made an important change in May 2015 by switching the Webmaster Tools name to Search Console – not for cosmetic reasons but as an expression of digital transformation and evolution.
Submitting to Google
Google Webmaster Tools’ transformation into Google Search Console heralded an exciting era of SEO. One major task involved is submitting your sitemap for submission; an XML file which lists every webpage on your website helps Google crawl more efficiently.
Create your sitemap manually or using a free tool. A sitemap should include loc> identifiers that specify where each webpage can be found, along with lastmod and changefreq dates that indicate changes and frequency as well as priority> tags to define its importance.
Once your XML sitemap is ready to submit to Search Console, the Sitemaps report provides a way for you to track its submission status. Here you’ll see when Googlebot accessed your sitemap as well as any potential processing errors.
Submitting to Bing
Bing can benefit greatly from receiving your sitemap as it shows them the layout and any changes made to your pages, helping search engines know which pages to crawl and when. This is essential for SEO since search engines now know which pages need to be checked often for changes.
As soon as you log into Bing Webmaster Tools, the screen below will appear. Select “Add Your Site Manually,” paste your sitemap URL in the Enter Your Site URL field, and click “Submit”. A window will then pop-up asking you to verify ownership by providing an optional verification code (pictured here).
Once verified, Bing will access your Google Search Console data and allow you to select sites for importation – it’s that easy!
Submitting to Yahoo

Yahoo is the second-largest search engine and offers an easy and straightforward process for submitting websites. While their results are powered by Bing, you must still submit them directly yourself.
Submitting your site early and frequently to major search engines is critical, though avoid making too many submissions at once as this could be seen as spamming. Resubmitting your sitemap periodically as you create new content or update existing pages will help maintain freshness of site content while increasing page ranking factors – remember though that updates could take weeks to reappear in search results!
Submitting to Yandex
Sitemaps are an integral component of search engine optimization. When created and submitted to search engines, web crawlers index all of your website pages quickly, making it easier for users to locate what they’re searching for on your site and helping your website rank higher in searches. By visiting the site, you can rapidly understand Webmaster Tools.
To create a sitemap, log into Yandex Webmaster Tools and register your website’s URK (Universal Resource Key). After doing this, submit your XML sitemap directly to Yandex for review and submission.
Yandex Webmaster Tools makes this simple by accepting your XML sitemap URL into their box and clicking Add. When your sitemap has been added, its status can be seen under Indexing Options section of Yandex Webmaster Tools – plus this tool can also help identify any problems on your website such as broken links, crawling errors or slow loading times that need fixing! However, please be aware that Yandex may take up to several days before processing the XML sitemap completely.
