Mark Barnard and I were talking about a new account we are coaching and training. We were talking about the new client’s database, lead generation practices, follow-up and organization. A pliers, screwdriver, a set of jumper cables and some fuses plus a small wrench set can get you out of a lot of jams. Even if you don’t know what to do with the tools, there may be someone around that knows what to do with the tools. Many cars are now operated as much by computer as anything else, but if your battery goes dead, having a set of jumper cables can get you on the road sooner. Make sure your tool set is what you need either inches or metric. Check to make sure you have the correct type for your particular vehicle.
Over the years, I learned another little handy trick that seems to help when it comes to saving money on parts for my car. You know all of those old “buy here, pay here” car lots? Well, if you run into one that is locally owned, you may get a little deal on any spare parts that they have laying around. Many times, these spare parts are just lying around and cannot be used for anything in the lot. The owners of these little side car dealerships love to make a fast buck and are often more than willing to part with a few vehicle parts to make some fast cash.
Every town has at least one junk yard, which it is commonly called an auto salvage yard because they salvage the parts. Some parts on these vehicles are not functional, but even the most dilapidated vehicles have something that is useful on the inside or outside.
These days almost every car part is available used but it is better to buy some parts as new. If you are driving with kids or passengers often, then it is always better to buy new parts for your car because it is very unlikely to understand how well the used parts will perform. It is always better to think about the safety first. There are chances of being scammed if you have little knowledge of auto parts. On the other hand, if you are attracted to freebies or offer that sound too good to be true, you are likely to waste a lot of money on inferior quality accessories later.
Both car enthusiasts and budget buyers have spurned the demand. So before you think of giving your dead beat car to a junk yard for scrapping it, consider this option of selling it to a car salvage company.
