Grow Celery in a Yogurt Pot on your windowsill, can it be done, there’s only one way to find out. I now have a viable plant but will it go on to produce a nice head …
I love your videos and I learn so much. Thanks you for sharing. Have a Blessed day. Hugs to Molly.
You are great! I have had great success following your tips. Love from Canada.
I did this but mind just rotted. So I planted me some Utah celery rom seed it's coming along really good . Thanks alot for all the container videos that's what has Encourage me to plant my container garden at my apartment. Keep the videos coming
Fun isn't it?
Just watched the update video to this video and seeing how well your regrown celery plant is doing is quite inspiring! Great video, will definitely be trying this!
I hope you and/or anyone else trying the regrown Celery has better luck than I did. Mine went to seed at about the height of yours last year. Not sure why. Certainly didn't get any usable stalks, just binned it after a while as got a seed pack.
Do you use actual soil in plastic containers? I thought soil-less growing mediums (media?) came into being when clay pots were replaced with plastic ones, as plastic isn't porous. My most sunny place is an east facing window, but I will try veg-growing using 10" buckets.
Love your videos!
I saw the Molly paws too ! Love to your girl from ours 🙂 Gotta try this celery, another inspiring video, many thanks x
Hello again, love seeing Molly. Such a sweet girl! How great is that to grow celery in a small pot like that, way to go!
Hi HGV. Giant red is a good variety but tends to get very big hence the name. It’s also a bit more open than the other varieties. I still have my celery plants growing since last year. I normally only take the outer stalks and then they grow on. In the winter I covered them with some fleece. Some hard frost did quite allot of damage with the cell walls breaking down but now they have recovered and I have celery again. Given you will grow them in a pot you could bring them inside on very cold night. They seam to be fine down to approx -5. Thanks for a good video
Awesome! Another first for HGV!🎉🎉😊
Love your experiments
Love your videos, thanks for sharing! Lee
Do you ever cut potatoes to get an eye inn each piece?Love your video's.Molly is so precious.
That's really cool!
I use my old celery and regrow it….I tried to grow celery in the raised garden ..but it was thin like a carpenters pencil..LOL
I've grown a celery plant from a stalk remnant like the one you showed. After a comment response from you last week, I bought celery seeds. I will try growing them from seed starting today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of us now.
Cut and come again veg 👍🏻
On your walks with Molly, have you seen any willow trees or shrubs? I've seen some videos that claim that using cuttings from any variety of willow can be used to make a root starter fluid. Apparently, thare's an especially high concentration of some kind of plant growth hormone just under the bark. Maybe you can use that to help to get your celery plants going. ☺ If you're so inclined to try it, search: WILLOW WATER.
I love your channel so much that I've been sharing it all over the place! I've got celery seedlings that finally survived! You sprout yours on paper towels, I planted mine in seedling trays. I just sprinkled a bunch of seeds in there and watered the living daylights out of them. I found out, that celery needs the 3rd leaf before transplanting instead of the 2 leaves like most plants. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrYPkVjQGVA
Thank you!
Very interesting. I live in Austin, Texas & it will soon be too hot to grow much. I want to try this while the heat has me out of the garden, just for fun. Also, it'd be fun for kids!
Molly paws! I see Molly paws!
amazing what can be done! hope it continues to produce . cheers as ever for the good advice 🙂
So happy for you. I've never been successful. Maybe I'll try it again, like this
Always interesting…Thank you ! 🙂
so fun to see you trying "free" veggies from the left overs…. my celery is getting leggy stalks now… still an experiment here too in So California… leeks , onions , shallots, garlic and mint as well … tbc…. 😉 the best part of this… is the "free" part…. unless your time is of more value.
I’ve grown from a shop bought celery root…works a treat! It’s in a 10” bucket kept all winter for cutting in greenhouse. Will go to seed this summer.
