  1. The main reason thta India banned e cigs is because they cannot regulate the taxes on e cigs as well as they can regulate the taxes on cigarettes. Which forms a large part of their tax income.

  2. Hopefully the public realises how stupid this all sounds. Especially in India. The government is alright with extremely dangerous Tobacco products that causes cancer and accounts for 10 million deaths each year ( millions more die from bidi smoking) But is completely against Marijuana?

    Imagine if weed was legal. The tobacco industry which rakes in 11.8 Lakh Croce each year would see a significant loss as people start to consume locally grown Marijuana.
    The government receives Rs 146 billion in taxes from tobacco products.
    It's not the public's health the govermnet has in mind. It's money.

  5. I think this bans are more driven by local tobacco companies avoiding a new dangerous competitor to enter their market and steal their sales. Rather than health issues. Otherwise they’d be regulating tobacco in a stronger way. Lots of money from tobacco companies to lobby politicians. And nice political propaganda making it seem politicians care about people health.
