  2. I had that old sheffield scout knife too but dont know what became of it. From what i can find, Whitby knife co, got some of their knives made in solingen Germany, or bought German stock and put the whitby stamp on them . Whitby knife co still exists but i'm not sur if they still make knives or if their blades are made in china. All the best.

  3. Yep we used to play splits, I'm only 50 so just a youngster. Some of the crazy games we used to play I am surprised we are still here. Great video as always

  4. Always played stretch with our knives when we used to camp up the local mountains .and smash the empty bean tins with our milbro slings the good old days no worries then 👍

  5. Brilliant lads. Of course we played splits. I had a cracking Bowie knife in the cubs and scouts…lost along the way, alas…..Fabulous episode…congrats on the new arrival Mike, so please for you all. cheers Miles

  6. I love this guy… He’s as entertaining as the late Bruce Forsyth. As knowledgeable as Herodotus. And as funny as the average female contestant mandated to be included on all BBC Radio 4 comedy panel shows..

So, there’s 2 great reasons to watch the totally awesome Super G.

Keep on bringing fantastic fishing and fun into our lounges…

  7. Can't add any more compliments than I already have to this channel from lure fishing for pike (on blanket weed infested water that I would not bother with) to knife sharpening and then playing splits (those were the days) Graeme demonstrates you are as young as you feel. Sent your regards to Tony (Tony's Tackle) and he sends his regards back to you (said he has not seen you in a long time) Anyway great entertainment whilst we get rid of this storm. Don't people remember the storm/snow of 1962-1963 that was adverse weather!

  8. Yeah Graeme and Mike we played that game to splits with a knife. also played flip with a folding knife where you had knife half open in L shape. then you struck down into wood so the point of blade was embedded lightly. putting a finger in front of blade you put finger under the end of handle and flipped up causing the knife to flip in circles and hopefully it would embed the point again giving you a point. each had 5 tries and the one with the most would win. Another variation on that game of flip was if you had a knife with a long blade and a short blade folding the long blade half open and the short blade full open. Again finger in front of the long blade and flipping up to make the knife do a few circles. if it came down and stuck in on the short blade you got double points and if on the long blade a single point. Yeah kids don't try this at home. Oh some of the games we used to play when we were kids would sure not pass today for sure but they wee good times back then. Love watching ta fishing and ta outdoors. You guys are the best. Thansk for the chance to spend tim with you both.

  9. splits or lawn darts? 😄 Graeme thank you, i am going through the hardest time of my life ,,,,but you offer me a world of comfort – like a long distance hug, my friend, you are more than just a guy on the tube – you are so loved sir. best health and tight lines mate! – that goes for you as well Mike!

  10. I remember playing Splits and another game we used to play involving a knife was Root the Peg AKA Mumbly Peg.
The times they are a changing for sure bring a nail file to school now a days the throw a fit.

  11. We used to play this as kid however, we were the other way round, we used to start with our legs split and throw the knife into the gap and get the feet closer together until some one chickened out, a tad more dangerous lol

  12. AWESOME as usual. Quicky: after storms is it worth going fishing for pikes? lets say the storm fades away on sunday, would monday be a good day for pike fishing or is best to wait a few days? Thanks

  13. We used to play a version of splits but if you three the knife into the middle the thrower would start again with straight let's again, games could go on for ages

  14. Hello totally awesome fishing show! I love your style of fishing! Whether its from the bank or pulling shark over the rail. Im from Michigan in the US. We used to have a brand of knives called "marbles". I saw the cut my way knife in the intro and lept cause i thought you had a michigan knife the resemblence is so uncanny. Much love sorry for the long read. – david from michigan

  15. I absolutely remember playing with the exact same knife playing the splits the same sort of age, we took those knives everywhere. Great stuff Graeme thank you.

  16. A good tip to put an edge on your knife if you don't have a stone is to carefully run it a few times across the top edge of your car window. Mind you do not scratch the glass or paint work. It really works.

  17. We called it 'Stretch' here in South Yorkshire, played it in the 80s. Also played a similar game on our rope swing placing the knife for the next person to retrieve. Brought back some great memories thanks Mr P

  18. When we played splits if you double spun it inbetween the legs of your opponent that was a reset for you!
Haha Splits, the things we did. Back then we had respect for the law and would never dream of using a knife to threaten any one. Sadly today Knife crime is still quite high, hence the restrictive laws wehave now.

    P.S Nice Pike Graeme!
