david morris is a longtime bay area resident and a 2007-2012 recipient of the poetry fellowship from the national endowment for the arts. he has published three collections of poetry, including the dream repository (1993), which won the brittingham prize from the academy of american poets, and the shrine of gwendolyn macewen (1998). his poems have appeared in journals including the atlantic monthly, fence, and american scholar. he also teaches literature at diablo valley college and lives in oakland with his wife, artist marianne morris, and son, brandt morris. photo credit: dick hamm
laura is the author of a sudden arrival, the autumn eye, and the environments of loss. in her poems she explores themes of memory, loss, love, and new love relationships. she is a fiction writer and poet-in-residence for san francisco state university. she has been nominated for the pushcart prize. she is also a clinical psychologist practicing in berkeley. most of her poetry and fiction are focused on human relationships. she lives in berkeley with her husband and six dogs. photo credit: luci crutchfield
james f. richardson, a native of evansville, indiana, has published a collection of poems entitled the inhuman heart, which won the ferrante villa poetry prize from the academy of american poets. he earned a b.a. in creative writing from west virginia university and went on to receive a m.f. from florida state university. mr. richardson was a former assistant professor of english and now maintains a second career as a reading and writing therapist. he recently received the sheila sweeney writers grant from the greater birmingham poetry festival in alabama. photo credit: phil penner
ken osborne is the author of within without, a collection of his poems. his writings have appeared in the times literary supplement, the big issue, and poetry london. he has been awarded a number of grants and prizes including a salamander poetry prize, the new statesman international poetry prize, and the northern poetry pifthay prize. he has performed at the international poetry slam, the stony stratford international festival of literature and poetry and the wurttemberg poetry festival.
don gaunt is a writer of poetry and fiction in the uk, and is the author of the novel the only boy, winner of the cwa bledisloe prize and the best fiction author prize. his short story collection, eighteen out of love, was published in the u.s. in 2014. he is a contributing editor for raritan, a literary journal published by the university of rochester press, and for the rialto, a literary journal published by the university of california press. he has also been a contributor to the oxfam-published anthology earth matters: young people and our environment.
dee caffrey has worked in it for over 20 years. she lives in dorset with her husband, two cats and the family tree. all her books are based in the uk, where she also grew up. she has a minor in creative writing, and now works part-time in this field. dee also volunteers with writing groups, and is on the board of the london-based ‘write now, write wild’ group.
joseph caleb is a writer, artist, and filmmaker. his short stories have appeared in the big issue, reading the guide, and the anthology the oxford anthology of ghost stories. in 2013, he was nominated for the philip k. dick award for best contemporary short fiction. he has also published two collections of poetry, eclipse & all its kinds of gold (2011) and land made of words: poems from the u.s./mexico border (2011). his debut novel, it’s the whole truth, is forthcoming this fall from night shade.
