The key is to use this syrup BEFORE getting the flu as a prevention. It is a good remedy after but using before means not getting the influenza virus. A heads up for them that wants it—Building/hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Harbor Freight, like that) seem to still have a good inventory of N95 masks and latex/nitrile gloves. Those places are my "toy stores", so on one of my last trips out of the house before I took up my front door's welcome mat, I bought a goodly stash of both to add to my supply. Prices aren't gouged, either. I still have a year before my recently-planted elderberries do the fruit thang, so I'm looking for a supplier of dried berries to rehydrate and syrup-ize. Short term, I guess I'll just have to buy pre-bottled syrup. Doable.

I am growing toothache plant in my herb garden. This can be made into a tincture and used as a cloraseptic throat spray or as oral gel for mouth sores and toothaches. Keep sharing your home remedies!
