I know first hand just how frustrating it can be to get up on that bar, pull with everything you have inside, and only crank out a few pull ups. It is bad enough if you do something like that when you are alone, but it is worse yet when you pull a stunt like that in a crowded gym setting. At first we got our car, a Honda Civic at a great price and I was very happy about it, although my husband was not so thrilled. He dreams like many men of sports cars and in particular Lamborghini’s. He talked about transforming the car a lot but I couldn’t imagine it was possible. The first thing he changed was the horsepower since he wanted the car to move faster. After this I thought now he will be happier, but boy was I wrong, a month later he was talking about buying body kits and spoilers and it keeps on going.
Some people think the only muscles that matter when it comes to jumping is the legs, but that is far from the truth. The core and the upper body play a big part in your vertical jump so I advise you to spend some time building your strength in all three of those areas.
Many people have a junkyard mindset full of negative self sabotage thoughts. The way you think is important. If your way, is negative, critical, doubts, limited beliefs, you will have a junkyard mindset.
Simple exercises such as crunches, pull-ups, squats, lunges, and push-ups are great ways to build your strength without any equipment except maybe a pull-up bar.
