Hexagonal battles are the classic in the medieval warfare. The battles usually takes place on a hex grid. 6 sides are for movement of each side, so the battlefield is divided into 9 areas. The four corners areas are reserves or two-sided areas. So your army in the middle area can attack the enemy from all sides. In each corner of the hexagon you can see a command icon on the hexagon. These icons represent a Command Cast. A player can order his units to move or attack and some units have command effects and can be used in other areas. This is also the reason of the name: Hexagonal Strategy Game.
Game Play:
Your first goal is to form your military forces according to the historical plan. You can use your ability and the ability of your units in this campaign. There are various ways to win. You can defeat all enemy units in one battle or you can defeat whole armies and take capital cities. You can do those simple things by selecting a battle and ready to go. Of course you can also modify the historical plan. You can split an army into smaller groups and attack the different parts of enemy armies. Attack one row and finish that side. Do something similar with the units groups.
The game starts with a simple tutorial. So you can learn the basics of this game easily. The tutorial is pretty easy to understand. Each screen with different buttons for clicking the units, different types of formations, changing the game options, firing at the guns, ability and so on. There are 3 types of troops: heavy armored, light armored and light troops. Each troop has its characteristics. So a heavy unit will attack a distant enemy more easily. Light troops will do the same in the middle area. So you have to select the right troop to fight in the right area.
As I mentioned the game has two modes of play: Campaign and Multiplayer.Campaign
In campaign you are playing as one of the three commanders of an army: Hunyadi, Wallenstein or Suleyman. The first mode that you are playing is a tutorial. You can gain experience and you are able to modify various options like the troop abilities, units and formations in this campaign. Then you are ready to go to the historical campaign and do some glory. You can open you campaign map to play with your created army or to keep your army and let it fight against the AI player and give you experience.
You have four main goals in the campaign: To defeat the enemy forces and take the capital city
