Cuttings for Free Plants | Propagation Results (2020) Six months after taking semi-ripe cuttings I ask Did it work? Plus an update on whether the rose cuttings …
I had a 50% success rate with my fuchsia cuttings this year. I’ll do better next year🤷♂️
It’s always great when your cuttings get roots! . Last year I tried hydrangea and some dwarf lilac with success. Nice video.
I always loved how new dawn rose looked on cottages and fences but never had a place for one. They are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your beautiful plants
I love New Dawn roses. Such a beautiful delicate pale pale pink almost white rose. We had 2 but lost one. Be sure you have something strong and sturdy for it to climb. One of ours was climbing a wooden fence topped with metal fencing then screwed into corner of building and a telephone type post and was climbing across the building roof. Have had to cut it back off the roof so it didn't mess up shingles. A horrid wind blew the rose and top of fence over. We had to cut the whole thing down because there was no way to lift all those thorn branches back up as it was so massive. The base of the rose was nearly as big around as a gallon bucket!!!!!
I love it Liz I have got to propigate more plants this year! "Cuttings Corner" love that too 😀
Thank you for yet another brilliant video. Absolutely love your channel. Lots of inspiration 🌱🌼
I love doing cuttings. This year I tried cutting elderflower bushes , blackcurrants and redcurrants and blackberries. It seems they did well! Thanks for sharing.
You had a good success rate with the cuttings, I had a bay cutting I planted it was just a stick with 2 leaves but it has grown into a full size tree, didn't know how big it would grow, oops
Hey, you've been recommended by the "Small Garden Quest" channel. Nice one Liz!
Those look so good, Liz. I envy you the place to keep such things as this. Around here they are more than likely to get dumped Hubby doesn't understand plants at all. Thanks for sharing.
The jostaberries take easily. I usually cut them back after they have fruited and stick them in where I want them. They fruit the next year. I love them.
I was so tickled to see how well the cuttings from the New Dawn and all of your other rose are doing. Your trellises are going to look at beautiful!
Hi Liz, yes you do work very hard it shows by all of your vegetables that you collect . Thank you for sharing this video and I like your hair it looks pretty😊
Great video, your cuttings have rooted very well. I learnt how to take cuttings from my dad as a little child. He's always surprised I'm still into all the gardening stuff. Right now
Great video Liz. What month were you thinking about having your open day. XXX Margaret in Cyprus
I love "free" baby plants!
Free plants yay! I just wish the New Dawn I actually bought would produce. Year 5 and still getting set back by disease insects and rabbits! It’s on its last chance.
Nice gardening video Liz, I did enjoy that…Steve…😃
Glad to see those cuttings took well Liz. Jostaberries always take well. IN Fact, I don't think I have ever had a rejection. Great video and shows the benefits of taking cuttings. FREE plants
Well done. I normally take cuttings but as I've started from scratch I didn't have enough plants to start with. Once I've built up stock I shall do cuttings. I did plant a gooseberry bush and a piece broke off and I stuck it in the ground. It's got new leaves so I'm hoping it took. I shall be the proud owner of a two inch gooseberry bush.
great results well done liz
Wow you have so many new plants liz and free . I love your red climbing rose 🌹. I can’t wait to see where you plant them all . Today I planted a lot of potatoes where the Chicken coop used to be . And layered it with the old straw. And then I planted more in a raised bed with compost and dirt .it will be exciting to see the difference between the two. We are going to use the Aviary to grow the cabbage 🥬 cauliflower and broccoli 🥦 as it has a really good plastic roof and fine mesh all around . I’ll buy more netting to go around to keep the butterflies 🦋 out. But I only thought of it because of one of your videos that you did recently with the turkeys . So thank you for all the tips you’ve been giving us this and previous years xxx
Love your video's keep them coming Liz, your channel is really maturing and it's fantastic to see your journey. All the best. Andy in Lincolnshire.
I have apple and cherry cuttings put in dirty sand. One of the cherry cuttings is sprouting a leaf now that the sunroom is warming up. There's more that might sprout yet.
i took cuttings from our mature apple, cherry, pear and plum trees i hope they are rooted, they have buds growing so i am hopeful
Hi Liz, that rosemary looks a treat!
I took gooseberry and redcurrant cuttings from my friends homestead (a mile away from us) in October, and I was thrilled to see them all shooting last month! So hopefully 6 new fruit bushes that will mean a lot to me 😊 I’m looking forward to growing some climbing roses when we start on our courtyard garden (a long way off, but you provide great inspiration Liz). Have a lovely weekend x
