i know that eliza’s text capture feature is nice for capturing a web page, but i find it incredibly annoying how often i get interrupted by a link. at minimum, i much prefer the feel of control+alt+print screen and command+shift+3. although i actually also capture images quite often, and will show you those in a later topic.

using text, not images, to capture the screen is a good way to keep the file size small enough to upload and embed without the need for any tricky java-style scaling options. you have to use a tool that understands the “text” format, such as notepad, notepad++, gedit, filezilla, or something else. if you simply print the file, then you’ll also lose any “hyperlinks” that go from one webpage to another. that’s fine for saving a page, but not what you want to copy-and-paste.

using images, not text, to capture the screen is your best option when you want to save a few bytes and keep it simple. you just save the screen as a file and delete the images. you’ll get back a “clean” textual representation, but not as good as a good “text only” approach. in most cases, this will be better than the “quick draw mcgraw” approach, since text-only captures take a lot longer to process than screen captures.

screenshots are a bit slower to process than text captures, but good enough for most people. and you can use them to create one-off screen captures for the page that you need. again, you’ll get back a “clean” textual representation, which is far better than images, and likely much faster than a “quick” screen capture. let’s start with two approaches:

but you folks that are bemoaning the mnts lack of performance insisting it needs latest greatest performance to have any value well none of those sort of high power machines have battery life worth mentioning! and that was my point. did not phrase it as well as i might have, but in the context of the initial comment i thought it clear enough something with the masses of performance extra on this or any other ultra portable max battery life efficient computing type devices wont be shouting about its battery life, as none of them have much in comparison
