I could very much relate to this reflection. My father was an OFW who worked in Saudi Arabia for more than 10 years. We would only see him back home for a few months once every year or two. We would always await his vacation, letters, and those cassette tape recordings of his voice. At one point my mom also decided to go to China to work. This was the time when they were already separated. Never in my thought that we will be a broken family. Sometimes I would think was the desire and need to have a better life financially worth all the consequences? I would always hope that time would reset and everything was different. But we know that God allow these things to happen to shape us and for His greater purpose. Truly we cannot judge the decisions each of us make in our own personal circumstances. We can only hope and pray that everything will turn out for the best. God bless.
Thank you, brod Bong. The reflection is quite moving, we'll pray for our migrant workers and their families left behind. God bless.
