There is a lot of unknowns happening now and one thing you can do to prepare for the future is grow your food! Order your chicks from Murray McMurray Murray …
Great video and their nothing wrong with growing your own food
Check out Al at Lumnah Acres their chicks where late and so far half of them have died and maybe more to come. Scary.
foooooddddddddddd
Hey Mike! Truck should get better mileage now. Lol. Question. We are build a greenhouse from growers solutions. Do you thing the side or end walls should face the hard prevailing wind? Nice job on the brooder. Love you guys!
The baby chicks are very cute! And the coop is very nice,
I knew my Dad killed the chickens so we could eat them but I did not have to watch. I love to have chickens and eat the eggs. I did not kill my chickens. I loved to just let them live. I had to sell the roosters though because we live in town.
you need magic water cider and honey and there is another ingredient
They look great. Really like the raised brooding pen. I just got 10 laying hens on Tuesday May 5th. They are Loman Reds, 20 wks old and ready to lay. Now I have 17 laying hens. Such an important lesson to know where our food comes from. My boys love their chickens. ♥️🇨🇦
Cute chicks!
Like your set up. Found you from the Hollar Homestead folks. Made a farmhouse look book for them to say thanks for keeping me motivated. Your channel looks awesome. I see some binge watching soon. 😆
Fun field trip
I love chickens. But, I always have trouble raising them. Either something gets to them, or they just die. Sadness!
Maybe soaking their feed would make it last longer. Also some grit for their digestion. Ask J. Rhodes he has raised them for awhile. They are very cute
Charlotte fromKy. 😀
How do I convince my husband?? Lol
Grow your food
That's great your raising meat chickens . Rabbits also would be a good fast source of meat .
I have been busy with chicks too. Love the video. I watch all the time.
We are going to processing our first meat birds this weekend..i am very nervous about it ..but I do see how important it is to know how to do it and know that I can.. My kids arent happy about it but I've been talking to them about and want them to be a part of the process.. I won't make them but will try to encourage them to experience as much of the process as they wish
had a friend who watched as we raised Cornish Rocks and help with the harvest. They were so inspired that we are now raising up a batch for their family. It's great to share knowledge from one family to another!
Yay new baby chicks arrive before it gets too hot.
One of the not so good video where the priority was on filming and giving lecture instead of having kept the brooder ready(knowing that chicks arriving) with bedding, water and food… Not at all a good one
The word "fun" may not be the right word to use when it applies raising chickens for meat (food). I think you were aludding to that. It is not so much the word but the experience of doing the best you can by making their life comfortable and the satisfaction of doing and knowing that. And maybe that is fun.
We wish we could use chicken tractors but the black bear would have it tore up in an hour. We have a lot of wild life that wouldn't let us have anything like that…
Another Vlogger once said that for 90+% of the population whatever they are eating has roots to a gut pile. If its meat, no matter where you bought it, it left a gut pile. However, if it was grown, the fertilizer and compost used to grow it probably has elements that came from a animal. When you raise or grow your own food you can make sure it had a good life with fresh air, clean water, good foods etc with only 1 bad day that they didn't know was coming if done right. Factory farms are not that way.
They'll be ready for harvest in 60 days. Please give them a container of grit for digestion.
Congratulations on meeting the 50,000 subscriber milestone. You earned it, and it's well deserved! 🙂 God bless.
Chickie's YAY 👏❣️🤗👍😁 Thank you for sharing ❤️💗❤️💖❤️ I see you are moving up in the World…. congratulations 🎉🎉🎉❣️👏👏👍💞💖
Poor Al Lumnah's chicks have been dying 3-4 every day. They got to him in the heat of the day. Hope all y'alls make it.Have a Wonderful & Blessed Day!
I was worried about my 4 year old grandson watching when we killed the chickens. Nope he asked me if I was going to make him some chicken nuggets. So kids adjust fast.
I’m a VEGETARIAN for “Medical-reasons” no meats or fish in my Diet over (30) yrs!!!, I’m a believer in if one eats meat learn about what is involved in taking care of the animal/s from start to finish… And the same implies for “Vegetarians and (Plants-fruit/Veg), Just treat the animal/s right when one raises them…
At the end of the day “WE ALL NEED FOOD TO SURVIVE” be it MEAT or VEG!!!…
Just be mindful & do it with “PASSION” Hugs from Diane in 🇬🇧…
I think the chicks are so cute. I great your sustaining off the land. Keep it up. Stay safe and healthy
