The reason for this tax was supposedly because they wanted citizens to stop using those bags because they were bad for the enviornnent. Now the government wants citizens to use those plastic bags and not bring their reusable bags to the store with them Is mayor lightfoot now going to remove that .07 per bag tax? Maybe if those that run the city, the county, and the state weren't so lacking in common sense, they may suggest that you do your shopping, pay for your groceries, and put the items back in your cart without putting them in a bag. Then you can roll your shopping cart to your vehicle as you would if your items were in bags anyway. Then put your items in your reusable bags, or any other container you left in your vehicle.
