  1. Love this show. Great perspective from Chart Man Dan. I have also been considering the implications of the upcoming American election myself a lot lately too. I think that Trump might decide to expedite to decriminalize, reschedule, or totally legalize before the 2020 election. I don't have any political agenda at all. But the polling data shows that millennials are the largest voting demographic in the 2020 election. Millennials and younger are virtually unanimous on cannabis, and the numbers are already very pro cannabis in the USA. Don loves the election, he lives for it, and weather we like it or not, he is very good at elections, media, pr. etc. I don't think he will let the democrats use it against him. A quick path thru legalization would throw the markets into a frenzy next year. Like Dan says, the overall market is basically hedged for the election. I think some kind of rescheduling/states rights/medical cannabis fence riding for 3 years would likely be the most profitable overall market scenario. The baby boomer mindset is terrified of a recession right now. A lot of them took big losses in the financial crisis, and oil/energy is wiped, they are panicked because they really want to retire, fed backed off interest rates to preserve market confidence. I think USA may break out really soon. Thanks for all the great content Midas Letter!
