BREAKING: How will coronavirus impact people living with MS?
In this video, MS Reporter Dominic talks to Professor Gavin Giovannoni 🎙️❔ about a topic that’s rightly of huge interest to the whole MS community: what are the …
A great video, With an exceptionally great neurologist!! Well done Shift MS. SUBSCRIBING RIGHT NOW!👍🏻👏🏼
Can we get an update
Tysabri???????
Has any deaths been reported with MS patients with COVID-19 ?
Continental Europe follows a different path – face masks of any kind (even primitive homemade ones) are mandatory as soon as You leave the house. Reason is to minimize spreading of the virus. Yes, a simple mask does not protect the person wearing it, but it pretty well protects all the people around. Check out this video: Slovakia Gets New Cabinet Amid Virus Measures
Outstanding video! Thank you
Is it Smart to congregate at rankin County schools to hand out lunches? Is it smart for madison schools to hand out enrichment materials? How intelligent is it to send kids home then have folks "congregate" to pick up food and school materials? Really? Really? And these are decisions of "educated" people?
I was very reassurred and I had been more concerned prior to listening to the neurologist. I am on Fingolimod.
What about the drugs that ms patients are taking, the drug is well known that reduce our immune systems
it is airborne what is this guy saying right out of the gate?
Thank you
good to know about dimethyl fumarate for sure since thats what im currently on. im 21 so i dont get sick often but when i get sick it hits hard, so its good to hear that so far im not at that much more of a risk than others due to MS or medication 🙂
Excellent interview and content. Thank you very much!
Thank you both for information.. take care all my MS comrades..
Thank you for this its answered the things i was questioning, its a wait and see
Very informative and clear, thank you for posting!
Been wondering about this for a few weeks as I've been on Ty for ~11 years now, so appreciate this very much.
Subbed and notifications set, and hopefully things will get better for us all soonest. Appreciate all your efforts to keep us informed, Dom.
Stay well, everyone <3
I have a question. I started my first Mavenclad 2 weeks ago. How bad could Corona be to me? I am so scared
Very informative video. Thank you. 👍🏻
High risk for multiple sclerosis?, I think yes, because covid 19 causes gave difficult problems respiratory
I Don, t know, I have MS
Shift.ms – thank you so much for this informative video! It definitely puts things into perspective and has curbed my fear a bit!
Thank you. Reassuring as always.
I am 9 months post round 2, my lymphocyte count is 0.4. Does this make me high risk?should I be self isolating?
This relieved a lot of my fears about me having higher risk of catching the virus and surviving it. Thank you so much!
Very useful. Thank you
Here is possibly a better question (from someone who has MS). Let's say there is a surface (like a table) that we know has Covid-19 on it. 2 people then touch it, one person who is considered healthy, and one person who has MS and is on a treatment like Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab). Neither of these people are aware that they have been exposed and neither of these people are being vigilant about washing their hand, not touching their face, etc. Is the person with MS and on an immunosuppressive medication, not at a higher risk of contracting the Corona Virus and being able to beat it than the other hypothetical person in this scenario? Maybe I'm just missing your point, but I feel a little perplexed after watching this. Thanks in advance.
Michael Osterholm, an American public health scientist and a biosecurity and infectious disease expert working on this virus has specifically stated that the Corona Virus is airborne so I believe the information given here is incorrect in terms of how it spreads via droplets https://youtu.be/cZFhjMQrVts
Thank you Shift MS. Reassuring and informative but also honest in that the experts themselves don’t know all the answers.
This is great. Thanks for such a balanced and informative interview Dominic and Prof G. And thanks for all the useful links provided in the text of the vid!
Fantastic & very reassuring thx
Very useful. Thank you. I take Gilenya. My lymphocyte count hovers between 0.3-0.1 (normal = 1.1). I was told by my MS nurse that Gilenya effectively 'traps' lymphocytes to stop them circulating in the blood stream (and breeching the blood-brain barreir I think!). So if on Gilenya you have fewer circulating lymphocytes, so are immuno-surpressed. The advice I have been given was DO NOT STOP TAKING your Gilenya (I had wonderd if this was a good idea). My MS nurse said that IF you get Coronovirus the docs would most likely suggest stopping Gilenya at that point. Then the lymphocytes would be 'released' and available in the blood stream to fight the infection. Stay well one and all. Thanks for the update. V reassuring.
Thanks for everything you all do!
Thank you both for your help and advise, you have managed to lay a lot of my questions to rest XX😘
