  2. Thank you for your videos. You inspire me to think outside the box. I've been saving the red plastic Folgers containers for awhile, for "something, someday". Now I can see plants in them. 😃 I also used the big plastic pretzel jars to cover my tomato and pepper plants when it got too cold, they had holes cut (melted) into them for air flow.

  3. Thank you for your insight! My 90 year old mom watches your shows with me. She went thru the war in Germany and she says you are SO Smart and sensible with all you are teaching!

  4. Hi I'm new to your channel, and I'm trying to start a vegetable garden, what do you use the tulle for, I might of miss a video about it, but is it to cover your containers?

  5. I love your videos!! I planted my first zucchini transplant into a tote using your method of planting. I'm in Georgia. Hoping for good results!

  6. We were going to start a garden bed at our local community garden but with laws we aren’t able to start anything there so now we are starting seeds at home in tubs we have already. I had got a bunch of seeds months ago.
We have been growing fruits. Now we are working on more herbs & veggies! Since we are all home the kids are enjoying planting 🥰💚🌿

  7. Everytime I am watching you, I get so excited planting and growing vegetables in all the unused containers available at home as of now. We cant go outside now because of the lockdown, but I am having a great time watching your videos.. Thank You.. God Bless And take care.. watching from Philippines ❤

  8. I've started seed on hot pad & grow lights on a shelf with mylar lined all sides. I haven't purchased seed, but I could only find 2 tomato starts, but no lettuce starts. Squash, cucumber, melon, eggplant, all easy to start by seed so I had all of those on hand from my own supply of years past. I've been using your "tote" suggestions. I'm still not seeing anymore then 6 hummingbirds, which is very sad, but I have seen one lizard which made me very happy. I'm located in Camarillo, CA.

  9. Hi Robbie, I have plastic tubs with the #2 on the bottom. I was going to use them for storing things in my garage, but I'd like to use them to plant in. I've had them for over a year just sitting. Do you think I could use them?

  10. Guess what, guys!? A few minutes ago, a hummingbird came knocking at our Florida room windows to tell us she's back from her winter vacation, and needs food! 🙂 I'm so tickled by this – how brilliant these birds are – to return to the same place after months and months away, to know to look inside for the person who brings them food! (I love them so dearly that I was really delighted to see that they've returned!) Scurried to the kitchen to get their food ready, retrieved the feeders and filled them, now waiting for the breakfast crowd to return. Note to self: be ready by May 1st for h'birds' return. 🙂 By the way, started some cooler-weather seeds indoors and have those seedling already in containers outside. Next sets of seedling are in the works now. God's good to us. 🙂 Thank you kindly for all the great information and encouragement you guys give – what a blessing you are! God bless…

  11. People (who garden for fun) sell seeds on websites like craigslist! They will send them throughout the country! And you often can see a photo of the actual plant they came from

  12. Ordered my soldering iron from Walmart and am doing worm towers and compost in place. Everything is doing great. Harvesting blueberries, zucchini, lettuce, parsley, beets and beet greens, etc. Stay safe out there and Be Blessed 🙏😇💖.

  13. I have always had a hard time throwing away seeds, which this year is a good thing since i couldnt get out much. I had about 6 half packs of chard seeds going back to 2005. I figured most of them were dead. I decided to layer them in a pyrex baking dish between layers of damp paper towel and see what happened. As they sprouted i put them in little pots with dirt. When i ran out of pots i put them in milk cartons, coffee bags, yogurt containers etc. i now have hundreds of chard plants and am going to give them away.
I also ran out of seed starting mix, but i have access to a huge pile of horse donkey goat manure. It is full of seeds. I ran it theough hardware cloth and baked it for 2 hours at 400 degrees. I sugest you do it on a nice day when you can be outside. The smell was horrible. It killed the weed seeds tho and is working well to put seedlings in and as base for seed starting mix. (Sand, baked poop, and vermiculite which i got from a cousin)
Where there is a will there is a way.

If you want some scarlet runner beans i saved a lot last year. They are beautiful. Thanks for yr posts.

  14. I got rolly pollies in my tote and it wasn't up against anything. I go through everyday and pick them out. I am so excited about your new driveway Garden. It is inspiring me to continue. I am buying up as many saves as I can but I already did have a good stash. I have become a little obsessed about saved and not even because of covid-19 just because it feels empowering to have a good quantity but I can plant whatever I feel like I want it. My goal is to have seeds that I can share with friends and Neighbors turn family.

  15. I love how excited you get-you remind me of…me! I am just getting started in gardening-loving your budget friendly tips-Thank You!
