Implementing UISearchDisplayController as a subclass of UITableViewController?
I’m working with the navigation controller template in Xcode 4.2.
I’m looking to customize the table view so that it uses a custom cell with its own detail view (e.g. similar to the “Done” button that appears on the right side of the email composer in iOS).
The custom cell has an associated detail view controller with the same size.
I would like to incorporate the search functionality of the SearchDisplayController into the details view controller.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
A UITableViewController subclass that has a UISearchDisplayController as a property (the custom cell is used as the table view data source) – doesn’t show any results
A UISearchController subclass that has a UITableView as a property (the custom cell is used as the table view data source) – it just displays the search view on top of the table view.
A UISearchBar and UISearchDisplayController as properties on a UIViewController subclass with a UITableView as a property – the search bar doesn’t display.
What am I missing?
