In the 90’s case of Lorena Bobbit, crucial testimony was given by a customer of HERS, where she was a nail tech. The customer said when Lorena raised her sleeves to begin work, her arms were absolutely covered with bruises. The customer was able to obtain Lorena’s confidence, but was unable to convince her to leave her marriage. Lorena stated that if this woman helped her to leave, her spouse would kill not only Lorena, but the woman as well. Her testimony was critical in securing a not guilty verdict for Lorena, in the trial for malicious wounding of her spouse.

EVERYONE has a responsibility to help those that are victims of domestic abuse. Recently my daughter got out of an abusive relationship but her abuser was allowed to file for benefits with the state in a backhanded way to steal her children from her. Being in an abusive relationship changes the ability of the abused to fight back, including being able to protect their children. The abuser has now had the children removed and given back to their mother after a year because he finally physically left a mark. The children and my daughter are all in PTSD therapy and trying to move forward with their lives. If ANYONE would have stepped up the state may have actually listened to us, her family, and none of this would have happened. Ok, off of my soapbox now…
Cosmetic capsules are NOT environmentally friendly. So very sad.

Thought I'd share the following clarification regarding China's new stance on animal-testing, from Suzana at CrueltyFreeKitty.com: "SUMMARY: China disclosed that routine post-market testing will no longer involve animals, but animals could still be used under certain conditions for post-market testing. Pre-market tests still involve animals (A LOT of animals), so China is still far from ending animal testing. But it’s a step in the right direction and we’re hopeful!"
She's my chief source of up-to-date cruelty-free info. I hope this is helpful to anyone who is/tries to be cruelty-free, but maybe isn't signed up to her mailing list.

I actually have recently REALLY struggled with how many companies are throwing CBD into products. I don’t feel it’s necessary, it’s a marketing tactic, an effective one, but I’m HIGHLY (no pun intended) allergic to marijuana and hemp derivatives. More than once I’ve purchased skin care from a line, like Murad, that never had cannabinoids or hemp products in the ingredients only to have a horrible reaction. I have to be hyper vigilant now and it’s just annoying. If it offered amazing skincare benefits I’d understand, but it doesn’t. It’s just solid marketing, it’s cheap and it makes people excited enough to buy.
Im not one to be a complete environmentalist but still Single use are you kidding me ?!! It’s so dumb it’s like that bag filled with single use Neutrogena wipes like WHY?!!!!!!!!!! It’s just a waste of plastic and then we wonder why our planet is being harmed….
Oh jeez as soon as I saw the thumbnail about Stila I said out loud “no no no no….” I can’t stand it.

I am SO ready for Cruelty Free to become the standard in cosmetics – and it all has to be verified by one ultimate over-seer. Tired of seeing 'Cruelty Free" printed on items that are actually not cruelty free at all. There is more than one company that issues the qualification & their rules vary wildly. Let's make ending pain & suffering the standard practice in beauty!
CBD is very effective. Internally and topically as skincare. The only issue is that many companies use so little in their products that it is almost non existent. Dont buy brands like Cannuka or any other product sold in a big name store. They are making money hand over fist by fooling people, plain and simple. Its insulting to the customer and the REAL Cannabis industry, which places people and patients over profit. CBD isolate also has to be activated for the molecule to be utilized by our cannabinoid receptors, which we all were born with. Some companies are putting inactive CBD into products. Make sure you purchase from people that understand the science. One more thing- dont waste your money on Kopari “coconut melt”. Its JUST COCONUT OIL!!! Seriously, lets put a stop to these companies robbing us!

I returned all Stila products I’d bought within the last month and threw the rest away. It made me sick to even look at it.
