Again, you perfectly point put a problem in the marijuana industry, which is a lack of adequate consumer information.
A major problem with that is licensing fees, etc already push out 99.9% of would-be working and middle class cannabis entrepreneurs. A vast majority of whom would comply with health codes if they were given a chance. People would then only go to reputable stores with proven records, ie those food safety scores on the sides of buildings.
Lowering the fees etc brings in safer cannabis, giving the consumers safe options! Consumers will choose safe over unsafe cannabis 99% of the time!
This authoritarian approach of only cracking down on "unauthorized stores", whether they sold tainted product or not, while not empowering small-business will only exacerbate this systemic problem…
