This library is a Windows.Forms control that creates a transparent Ribbon-like control, like the ones in Office 2007. I think it’s not so important to use a Ribbon control because most people already use one on their programs, so using a ribbon-like control will not force you to develop a ribbon control on top of it.
This ribbon is a nice way to get a transparent Windows.Forms control to do exactly what a ribbon does, including menu, toolbars, tabs, buttons, listview, scrollview, message box, etc.
I used the ribbon in some projects and I think it’s perfect to use. I’m not using it in my current projects, but I didn’t have any problems using it. I used it in a Visual Basic.NET Forms project and it worked fine. This project was developed for business, it wasn’t a personal project so I guess it won’t be as hard to work with the ribbon if it was a personal project.
Performance – I’ve used this ribbon on an application with all kinds of controls, everything worked fine. The demo application shows all the controls in the ribbon working perfectly fine, it was my first application using the ribbon and I haven’t had any problems with performance.
