  1. I know Im a little late to the party, but here was my thought, from what I can find online, data indicates you want the cold trap 15-20c below the freezing point of the sample. I guess question A) is that freezing point at atm, or our vacuum? B) even if freezing point at atm (32F/0C) 15-20c below would be -4F to +5F – a home freezer is typically 0F. Think it would work? I can get cheap freezers all day, run the sample jar in the fridge, cold trap in the freezer?
    Edit to add detail
I think Ive also read that for freeze drying hash (what half u I kno are here for too lol) the ideal sample temp is around 45-48F, so thats why I had the fridge idea, well within the range you can set a fridge temp to. Then you add a small heating pad under the sample jar you can turn on and off from outside to raise jar temp.

  4. That’s amazing. Could you please estimate how much time and cost would it take to prepare specified amount (100 grams for example) of fruit like strawberries and other food that you tried it with?

  5. If you'd break it down it'd help me. There has to be a tight sealed container for the food right? Then a powerful vacuum pump. Then you have something to do with dry ice and I'm lost.

  6. Well done uploader, a lot of Americans moan about living paycheck to paycheck, but have no problem spending 2000 on a harvestright ! They are way too expensive which is why they cant be more popular than dehydrating.

  7. I accidentally freeze-dried food in my freezer once. That really shouldn't have been possible lol. Sometimes when it gets insanely cold out here (like -30F and under) I wonder if I can actually freeze dry stuff outside. This is really neat. 😀
