  1. Hope everyone's having a great weekend so far. As we chat about weeds, start thinking about some other lawn tips you're on the lookout for. Leave a comment for me to let me know, so I can bring them to you. I want Budget Lawns to be your go-to place for all your answers. When I was getting started in lawn care, it drove me nuts to always have to go on a wild goose chase for answers to simple questions. That ends here on Budget Lawns.

  2. Great information. I have Bermuda. My method is hitting the yard once my daily low temps are around 50 degrees with a per-emergent (granular). That creates a good barrier when watered in. Once my yard is about 70-80% out of dormancy, I mow the lawn on day one, the next day (day two) I hit with the Spectracide through a hose-end sprayer and lastly, the third day I spot spray POA with Image. I literally don't get weeds.

  3. I am dealing with a pretty significant chickweed infestation. I did an over-seed and starter fertilizer at the end of March as I am really trying to build my lawn up as I deal with plenty of weeds and thinning. If I put down the weed killer, how long should I wait before doing this so as not to kill the developing grass?
Similarly, I had planned on putting down fertilizer around Memorial day. If I put the weed killer down, should I wait to fertilize?

I am up in Indiana, and have been putting down Midwest Best ryegrass blend.

  4. Our lawn has always been the worst weed nightmare imaginable since moving here. We have the preventer, but not the post application? Can I use what I have in the same way you would use the post weed stop by spectricide?

  5. Very accurate assumption about the before and after, at the beginning. Exactly why i watched the entire thing!

  6. Great video. I am a southern transplant with a new Bermuda lawn, so I am really like the videos. I was not able to put down a pre-emergent this spring, since they just sodded in Jan. However, I want to try to stop as much crab grass as I can for the summer (my lawn is already filled with POA). Being a little more south than you, do you think beginning of May would be a good time to catch baby crab-grass with the spray weed-stop?

  7. Thank you so much for this video. I'm having to take care of my yard for the first time and am clueless with how to conquer these weeds. The stuff that caused cancer in some people did not work for me. So, here goes with your tips, hopefully things will turn around for the better.

  8. ☀️Grabbed several post-emergent bottles for $5 each at Lowe’s last week. Great price, product, and video! Patience is the key! ☀️

  9. Love it! I have definitely been guilty of not reading labels in the past. Wish you were around back then to tell me how I was supposed to use products like this. 👍🏼 great info!

  10. Never really gave them a shot. Next year they will be in my crosshairs. Great price. Great value! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience brother. Great video!

  11. I’m really interested in seeing more about good watering strategies for those without irrigation. I’ve gone through just about every sprinkler there is bout haven’t really found anything great yet. If it’s convenient then it’s un even coverage, if the coverage is good then it means I’m using tons of above ground sprinklers chained together and moving them around all the time which is not convenient. I notice my surface soil dries out really fast but then when I dig down the soil below is too wet. I am never really sure exactly when my lawn needs water. I have not mastered budget watering yet…

  12. Hey there new sub here thanks to striperman , Ive used this in the past its a pretty good product. I use the 1 gallon ready to spray for post to do some spot spraying with never hurts the lawn at all , but not very effective on clover . Thanks for the great content.
