  1. Based on what the candidates have indicated would be their tax policies, it is clear none of them has a clear understanding of the economics of taxation. What is really needed is a structure that distinguishes unearned from earned income. The system must be progressive to achieve this outcome and also much simpler in terms of compliance. Huge resources are today wasted by government in tax collection and by the public paying to have their tax forms prepared. So, what should an individual income tax look like?

Exempt all individual incomes up to some amount (e.g., the federal median income, and
double this amount for households with two adults filing jointly). All other
exemptions and deductions to be eliminated. This change addresses the inequity
of the current system, which taxes gains on asset sales more favorably than
    income earned as wages.

Above the exempt level, impose an increasing rate of taxation on higher ranges of

income. The rates and ranges would be set during the budgeting process with the
objective of raising some portion of total revenue required to balance the
budget. State governments should be encouraged to adopt the same basic
structure. The amount of revenue raised by the states versus the federal
government would then play a role in the direction of revenue sharing.
Potentially, states would no longer depend on federal revenue to balance their
budgets and federal spending could be adjusted downward.

Additionally, as existing government securities mature, they should be refunded with fully amortizing bonds that repay to investors both interest and principal. In conjunction with the above tax reform structure the public debt can be gradually reduce and eventually retired.

  2. Democrat tyrants will fix the election again so that old white privileged Joe Biden wins. Then President Trump will beat poor old Joe like a drum.

  3. You got one woman that lies about being Native American….. You got one black dude that wants to be Barack Obama just like him and won't admit that he's a homosexual….. You got one black woman that screwed her way to where she's at and lies about everything 1 old man it says he's a socialist but he's really a communist not much to choose from

  4. What person is dumb enough to be a Democrat nominee after what they have done to Trump.??? someone is going to make them pay ,no way in hell I would ever run for the Democratic party nominee

  5. Yang Elizabeth or Senders, the other's are not as popular, two of them are memey and Yang is just good and not crazy

  6. So climate change is not a big issue evidently… Wow. It is actually the one and only BIG issue the entire human kind will be facing in the near future – it has already started for some people ! In fact, never in history has an issue been so defining for the future of the world, hence the future of the USA. Not talking about this makes talking about everything else senseless ! Come on.

  7. How does increasing taxes of the wealthy help the poor when the government has controlled the spending in many irresponsible ways? How will "free healthcare for all" be paid for? If minimum wages are increased, wouldn't that increase the taxes on those wages? Doesn't inflation follow minimum wage raises?

  8. We now live in a Country where it is Scandalous to fly our Nations Flag ( Old Glory ) thanks to you Liberals. There isn't a chance in the pits of hades of me or my family EVER CASTING A VOTE FOR YOU MALIGNANT SPIRITS.

  9. Are these really politicians or jokers ? Looks like all of them are only interested in defeating Trump, so they say whatever that comes to their mouth ?… Esp this old man Bernie 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ Seriously??? …. America please wake up. Don't let your country's politics look like Indian politics…. Sorry to say this, it resembles a lot to what happens in India.

  10. They want to raise the minimum wage yet Kamala, and Biden both pay less than $15 an hour to some of there campaign people. Wake up people. There not for the poor. They just want you to think they are to get your vote.

  11. Bullets or hospital beds> How many people can get proper healthcare for the cost of one Gerald Ford class super carrier? Lets see, roughly $13.5 Billion per carrier. One built already and I believe two more keels laid. So three. Nice for the ship yards. But maybe we can stop then. How many surface ships do we have? Over 500 I believe. Maybe we can posture differently? Maybe we can cooperate with our Allies, oh sorry, Trump has alienated them all. Well too bad. Maybe their countries would have built a few more ships and we could have instead diverted funds to other needs?

  12. So on the issue of health care and minimum wages. If working Americans have a fixed minimum wage that has not increased at all in TEN YEARS, and the cost of health care expenses have increased and average of 4.775% per year from the years of 2014 through 2017….it does not take long to realize that a key component of staying alive is rapidly becoming UNAFFORDABLE, to working Americans. All that will lead to is millions of people living destitute and in bankrupt. But hey, that is Capitalism. Sorry, but that sucks. If that is the free market, then watch out. You can't have millions of disenfranchised people. That will lead to revolt.

  13. I wonder how many Latin people seeking asylum in America could be housed in vacant shopping malls? Not that that is a practical solution. Neither is America annexing the upper half of Mexico and creating an asylum region for all the people from central America to live it. But it is tempting to think outside of the box.

  14. So how about this? Let's say a company can't depreciate a building or a piece of equipment any more? Why? Because it fosters waste and abuse. Let me give you an example. Commercial Real Estate. I live in Florida and I see so many strip malls along highway US 1 with really high vacancy in the units. And yet, down the street a new strip mall is being build on vacant land. Why? Because it is cheaper to depreciate the existing business and take the profits to build a new mall? So let's destroy more vacant land, would if it were to sit naturally idle, actually might be habitat for something other than vacant buildings and miles of asphalt. We may not have so many endangered species if we stopped encroaching on habitat unnecessarily.

  15. And then there is the Don! We can't know what he paid in taxes and what he earned, because he will NOT release his tax returns. So let's speculate. Let's say in 2015, the year before he became President, his gross income was $45 Million. Not his net worth. Just his Gross Income. So as an individual, he would pay 4% in my plan. That is $1.8 Million dollars. Does that seem fair? Certainly it seems that he is financially able to pay that. So that is paying his fair share. Did he in fact pay his fair share? Or did he as so many other rich people paying lip service to being a Patriotic American, but actually pay $0 taxes? I remember growing up and as a child, I would overhear Men talking. And they would boast that they paid their taxes! And they would argue over who paid the check at a restaurant. They actually had this tug of war over the check! And it could last for several minutes! It was sort of embarrassing. But it was also very good to see people willing to be generous and responsible. Those were the days!

  16. I am wrong, or is higher taxes simply a rhetorical device to seem People Centric? Sure Billionaires can afford to pay more. But they traditionally can also afford to pay for an army of accountants, lawyers, financial planners, brokers, agents and lobbyists to help them avoid paying any taxes. I would argue instead that higher tax rates are not effective. I would again offer a very simplistic tax idea, that of FLAT TAXES with NO EXEMPTIONS OR DEDUCTIONS. Would a flat corporate tax rate of 8% and a flat individual 4% tax with absolutely no deductions or exemptions make more sense. Let me site one example. AMAZON corporation. It paid $0 in federal taxes on $11.2 Billion in profits in 2018! If that is right, that seems to be a problem for the next President in 2021 to address. So I would prefer Amazon corp. pay 8% on it's TOP LINE gross revenue number. What is 8% of $232.8 Billion? It definitely is not ZERO. It is roughly $18.6 Billion. Doesn't that seem fair? So if I worked and invested my money, and I earned in one year $100,000.00 I would pay $4000.00. Isn't that better that Large Companies pay their fair share? And little people like me pay something, nothing crippling, but still something.

  17. Being vice president under a progressive President does not make Joe qualified to lead. He was chosen to help draw voters to a less politically palatable candidate. Obama needed a white vice guy to help bring in the independents and the less Ethnocentric (R word omitted) traditional white voters. Will Biden actually have any real policy drive now? It's not age as much a vitality and relevancy? He just does not have the passion for key issues. He reminds me of a Trump. He just wants that President title to add to his gravestone. Perhaps someone else who's ideas and passions are relevant to present and future issues. It is not enough to be against the opponent. If that were true, I should be President. But no, I would not vote for myself either. So just say no to Joe. And let's move on. It's the 21st century and let's elect a woman with heart and intelligence and passion and a very clear plan of action.

  18. Looks like they all want to give away billions to get your vote!! No ideas except taking your money to spend your money! Trump is the answer!! Might not like him, but he is the one!
