I grew up with Gram Parsons in Winter Haven Florida. My mother bought his first guitar. It was a bright red Fender. Gram's name was actually Gram Conners. His father was "Coon Dog" Conners from Waycross GA. I remember the day he died like it was yesterday because I got a phone call at 6am from his step-father (Bob Parsons asking me what I did with Gram's body. I told him to fuck-off and went to class at N. Ga, Tech. I even got calls from "Rolling Stone" about Gram even though he an I had not spoken in over 8 years. We both worked in the music industry; Gram was a singer and I was a "Front of House" engineer for 40 years. His favorite pets were his Pug named "Charlie Brown" and an Ocelot named "Paco". I saw this movie when it came out and johnnie Knoxville just got in to acting in movies. And I can honestly say that he is a natural. Good movie

I thought Michael Shannon played his character, hippy, really well.
I watched this after almost choking to death in my sleep at 1:30 in the morning ,after a couple months of death and despair,and an uncertain future .A movie well done about friendship and loyalty,a story that I always found amazing.To put it down is just wrong.
Gram Parsons was a truly wonderful musician. He and Emmy Lou were magical together! I like to think he had an influence on Keith Richards and the Stones, every time I hear songs like "Honky Tonk Blues" , "Far Away Eyes" , and many, many more. God Bless you Gram! You are missed!
