  1. Took a hike today ans saw blooming dogwoods on the trail and a beauty in a yard and thought of you sweet Elizabeth 🥰 I wanted to post but guesd I need to email you.

  2. Just love watching your videos. You're such a pleasant, good natured person who gets such joy out of life. Not many people these days are as appreciative and thankful for their blessings as you . You set a wonderful example for the rest of us to focus on happy simple things in life. Your videos always make me smile. You exude contentment and love of life that always reminds me to reflect on my own blessings more often! You are a unique shining soul dear Lady. God Bless you Elizabeth!

  3. Have you tried planting in cloth pots? They allow the roots to air prune and promotes a much healthier root ball which can make better use of nutrients. I found a pretty big difference in plant size and overall yield. They are more expensive but are reusable and last much longer than plastic pots if taken care of.

  4. You are an inspiration. I've much to learn. Just venturing to start a veggie garden as well. Looking forward to watch the progress. I'm in Oklahoma.

  5. How fun, I have been doing that as well. I live in a cold wet climate and so it will be the end of month before we can put anything in our container gardens. We have so many deer, rabbits, slugs, and other animals here so everything has to be on the deck and in containers. I was wishing a raised bed planter for this year but hubby had a shoulder replacement so maybe next year. The containers are fun to put in and you can almost watch things grow.
Enjoy your plant starts and have fun being out in the fresh air!
    Blessings and stay well!

  6. transfer your feeding water to a spray bottle and spray wet to not let them dry out. i had a 40ft long by 22 ft wide garden, that was 8 yrs ago . now its too hard to kneel and bend so i'm enjoying your garden with you. i am going to grow tomatoes and onions

  7. Elizabeth you are looking very trim these days. Your tomatoes look great! From what I’ve been reading on YouTube here, is that seeds are getting hard to find. The racks are there with a sign saying “non essential items”
Now if feeding our bodies is considered non essential……I don’t know what is!🙋‍♀️🦋💜

  8. I thought lettuce had to have direct sunlight to germinate. Pretty much everything else germinates without light. After they're up they need light of course. Blessings for your garden.

  9. I did the same thing for a gallon jar. We bought a large gallon jar of pickles from Costco (I think..it was several years ago) and after they were gone, used the large jar for iced tea. It was way cheaper, as you said, to buy it that way than to just buy a jar off of Amazon. Great minds think alike! LOL Really enjoy seeing you plan out your garden. So much fun.

  10. I used those pods one time to start seed and when I planted them in the soil the pods were so strong the roots couldn't break through (even corn) and they became root bound and I lost a lot of plants. Loose potting soil with pearlite put into seed trays in much better.

  11. 😃 Hello all!,
Wanted to wish you all”Goodluck” on your new Veg n Herbs raised bed!!!.
    I pray everything shall sprout n grow!…

    Blessings. Diane from 🇬🇧 UK…

  12. Hello Elizabeth, I am so very happy for you that you are now able to have a garden. I see how excited you are, and I pray for your success. I love to grow my own food as well. God bless you as you embark on your new adventure.

  13. I'm new to your channel and I'm pretty new at gardening also,
Iv'e done a little here and there but nothing really major. Iv'e learned that you can keep seeds for years longer than the package says like 5 years or more ! I thought up a way that I'm going to store my seeds, I'm going to get a recipe box from the Dollar Tree and store them in there by category.
just thought I would share a couple ideas with you, I think you are the sweetest gal I really enjoy your videos I just subscribed to your channel :O)
Well Take Care and May God Bless You and Yours

  14. we have already planted tomatoes melons bell peppers onion leaf lettuce. hot peppers and rubarb and I have done a lot of seeds also, we worked on our flower garden today, just hope we have nice weather and our plants do good , hope that everyone try to start a garden even if it is a small one, like a 5 gallon bucket you can do potatoes in buckets I have started with my potatoes 3 5 gallon buckets, then next will be doing baby water mellons and pumpkins and strawberries also this year we are trying corn just a couple plants, not to much, but with the shortage of food trying to see what we can grow that way we will be able to grow more next year

  15. I've started my seeds and they are residing on the kitchen windowsill. I used the miniature dixie cups and placed them in a plastic container that my salad mix came in. Instant greenhouse!

  16. If you have access to a old wheel barrow or wagon, you can put your large pot with your squash plants in them. When it is time to mow you can move the plant out of the way. I have a large wagon that has 4 large pots, a red radio flyer type wagon with tow pots, wheel narrow with an extra large pot, plus a cart that has another extra large pot. There is not weeding and can shift the garden to maximize light.

If you have cold sensitive plants in you portable pots you can move them next to the house and put a clear plastic tent over them to protect them from frost.

I also have used an old grill that I removed the grill parts to grow herb just outside my door. Any container can become a planter.

  17. In Virginia, we grow fig trees close to the house for winter protection. Some people even “ bury. “ them by bending them and covering with soil and leaves. Figs do really well here in Albemarle (Charlottesville). Good luck, gardening is wonderful! We learn new things all the time!

  18. I love watching you guys planning your garden. I need raised beds too. I love those! I hope to be starting to garden with raised beds next spring. You are a good garden mentor for me. I love your red sweatshirt and the sound of your wind chimes. Bless you and your family. Stay safe. I can’t wait to see your garden as it prospers. Your new home looks so “homey” like you have lived there for years! 💕🌷🌷🌷

  19. So excited for your new garden. Have you heard of long keeper tomatoes? We grow several varieties in nc and have fresh tomatoes into jan/feb. Sounds like you have wonderful things to grow this eat.happy gardening❤

  20. Hi. I was watching your videos from a few years back on the Grizzly micro stove and fan. My question was what are do you live in? I want to compare temperatures in winter where I am to where you are so when I watch the videos I get a general idea of what temperatures the stove is working against to heat up your place. Thanks

  21. Off topic…but I thought what a wonderful opportunity with Pop living with you and your move near your son, wouldn’t it be nice to take some family generation photos. One fun one would be the four generations of men from Pop to your grandson. Of course we can’t forget the ladies…some lovely ones of your granddaughter and you and your daughter in law would be perfect too!

  22. We can grow figs on the pa/de line so your fig tree should be fine. The little farm I go to for eggs etc puts their figs against a south facing wall for protection and keeps them pruned for a bountiful crop. Love figs. Taking care of mom in her home so I will not be doing any gardening except for her little flower bed, but I sure will enjoy watching your garden videos and learning new stuff for future gardening!

  23. Wishing you the best on your garden. I’m excited for you. There’s nothing like fresh veggies 🌽🍆🥒🥬🥕🥦 and few 🍉🍑🍓🍋🍊🍐

  24. I am so excited both for you and with you, to see everything grow, the variety of seeds you planted all sound delicious and to know you grew them your self with the things God created. What a joy it will be to harvest the fruits of your labor. Thanks for taking us along. 😊

  25. Rainbow Gardens uses the square foot gardening method. She shows how to do everything. She has a series and many other videos…I think she is in 6b…near you.
