I use Dimension in zone 7 as a pre-emergent in April to control crabgrass and Tenacity as a pre-emergent against wild Bermuda grass. But, I will take this advice and start using Tenacity to kill the occasional crabgrass that emerges. Another strategy is to plant shrubs and small trees on the lawn to provide some shade. Crabgrass doesn't seem to tolerate shade.
I am not sure if this question has been asked before but, if one were to mix more than they needed for an application, is the mixed solution good to be kept for a time period to be used again at a later time or no? And if so, how long before it needs to be dumped?

If you get rid of clover and crab grass in Maine.. You'll see bare lawns. Clover isn't that bad of a weed to have in your lawn either – the flowers it blooms feed the local honeybee population and keep the ecosystem ticking.

This is great information, I am going to try this and see if I can get a great lawn. I moved into this house several years ago and had a very colorful lawn green, yellow & white most of the green was weeds, yellow & white was dandelions. I even had my neighbors spraying my yard for weeds 🙂 Now I will try this and see what happens…thank you for giving me some hope! Dave
