The DA failed in this situation. Both the man and the woman were subject to domestic violence charges. If the Denver DA would have pressed charges in this case neither of them would have been allowed to own guns here in Colorado. It looks to me like the Denver DA chose not to press charges specifically to make it look like the red flag law was useful in this case. From what I hear the wife admitted to throwing a bottle at the husband's head after he had attacked her. In most cases both parties would have been charged with domestic violence and both would have been barred from owning guns.

I hate guns and would never touch a device made to murder. BUT, I'm a historian and understand what happens when an armed government goes up against an unarmed civilian populace: Dictatorship. The only thing that will ultimately keep us free will be our firearms and I support every American arming themselves with any and all weapons used by local police and militia. Never surrender your weapons, America!
